Just saw it live, unbelievable... the NBA is terrible. This time it was actually not necessarily Artest's fault, but those fans are a bunch of low class punks... Amazing fight though... players vs. fans lmao

I guess a guy threw beer in Artest's face. What was Artest to do but chase him down to the stands, Wallace and Tinsley following?

Horrible...

Artest fould Ben kinda hard then ben pushed Artest into the scores table where a fan threw a beer on Artest. Artest was in persuit of the fan and both teams went in to try to stop him apparently. Then fans were hitting players and stuff while they werent looking and it was just a huge fight between the fans and players.

All I know is they need to kick Artest's ass out of the league...

Why should they kick Ron Artest out of the league?

Why should they kick Artest out of the league?

Causes too many problems... They won't do it because it attracts more people to watch to see him make himself look like a moron

This was totally bad ass. I was with my friends playing poker and we just stopped. That was the biggest fight in sports history. Jackson, Wallace, Wallace, JO, Artest will have gigantic fines, suspensions etc.

How about the guy that threw the beer bottle at Artest? As ugly as that was, it was ****ing hilarious, but mostly because he threw it at the headcase himself, Ron "I need to take time off from rapping" Artest. I always thought Sixers fans were the worst fans in the NBA, but I guess I was wrong. ;)

Kick Artest out of the league? The fans are the ones that threw the beer at him. Arest goes into the stands, which obviously he shouldn't have done, and goes for the one guy, and people start coming from all sides and hitting him and other Pacer players. Did you see the clip of Jermaine O'Neal walking off the court and trhe fans throwing beer and popcorn at him? Certainly this could have been handl;ed better by the players, but I put the blame for this one all on the fans.

Nevermind... at the time I said that was just after I saw it live, and I thought artest went in the stands only b/c someone said something to him.

All I know is that guy that got clocked by Artest and then O'Neal will be making a trip to the hospital...

This was absolutely rediculous! I just got home from my high school's football game, First thing I saw. REDICULOUS! This has to be the worst thing in the history of not only the NBA, but all of sports. Players in the stands, fans on the court, just crazy. I don't know how this will be disputed, but it is definitly crazy.

Yes that was disturbing, but you have to admit, that is ****ing hilarious. Big Ben comes in and bumps Headcase Artest after Artest fouled him hard, then some retarded (and probably drunk) fan throws his beer at Artest, Artest chases him in the stands, beats the shit out of him, more fans help out the drunk fan, throw popcorn at Artest, Artest is escorted out, Jermaine O'Neal sucker-punches the fan while he's down, and more popcorn is thrown.

yum

1) I dont even want to think about the numerous lawsuits filed this upcoming week by those fans who got hurt by the players.

2) Are both of the teams going to have enough players to play the next few games because of suspensions? I know the Pacer have at LEAST 4 and the Piston have about the same.

I'm anxious to see the players fines and punishments.

It wasn't even that hard of a foul. Ben Wallace completely overreacted, then taunted Artest just as it was dying down by throwing a towel at him. The more I look at it, the more I think it was the fans fault.

It was completely the fans fault. It wouldnt have escalated into what it was without them.

I wrote an article for it on me and my friends sports blog.

Only a couple days after the incident started, and your already sick of hearing about it right? Well here is a different article on the whole story. First I’ll briefly explain what happened.

The Indiana Pacers squared of against the Detroit Pistons on November 19. With the Pacers leading 97-82 with 45 seconds left in the 4th Quarter, it looked like a simple Pacers victory, but think again. Ron Artest fouls Ben Wallace who was going up for a lay-up. Wallace must have thought Artest did this on purpose, because he went right after him and shoved him away. As most sports do after this situation, the benches clear and everyone is fighting each other. For some reason, Artest was laying on the scorekeeper desk and a fan throws a cup of beer onto him. He then goes into the stands and attacks a fan, in which ended up being the wrong guy. It gets just as uglier after that. After teams fighting all over the arena, one Pistons fan somehow lands on the court, Artest saw him and punched him to the ground, and when the fan gets back up, Jermaine O’Neal, with all his might, punches him right in the jaw. The Pacer’s Head Coach finally takes his team into the locker room, struggling by the fans throwing cups, bottles and even popcorn at the players. It’s amazing how all this was started by a foul that wasn’t even so bad. Here is my opinion on how this can be a positive for the NBA.

First of all, this incident got worse by drunk fans. I’m sure the NBA does not want to go through this again, and will probably take away alcohol off the menu at all NBA Arenas. To also ensure that fans cannot have access to going on the court, the best seats in the house, the courtside seats can be taken away and only have the regular arena seats. Although this make season ticket holders upset, they should understand that it is best for the NBA. If these two things happen, it will make there be a less chance of this ever happening again, and will also make a day at the ball game become a safer one. Once again, to think that all this was caused by a measly foul, and could possibly change the future of the NBA.

Plenty of things could be done about this, expect beer sales to discontinue during the 4th quarter at the Palace if Stern had any sense. As for the players, Wallace should get a 3 game suspension, and the three Pacers getting more. Artest defiently asked for it just lying on the scorers table acting cocky, but the fan was out of control. Since he did hit the fan first, he could be facing a season suspension, or at least a 20 gamer. Stephen Jackson will get a lot for joining without a good reason, and so will O'Neal.

At most...
Artest- Season
Jackson- 35
O'Neal-20
Wallace-5

The Pacers May be totally screwed now. They will be missing there 3 best players for a while. No one will want to trade for a artest who is not playing the rest of the year. There playoff spot may be in jepordy and will probably not get one of the top 2 seeds in the east. Pac its an ok article but not well described, you could have said other things more important and easier said.

Artest was being cocky by laying on the scorer's table and avoiding a fight with Wallace? Wallace was yelling at him (after overreacting) and had to be restrained. Wallace threw a towel at Artest. Instead of fighting back, he just layed there on the table and didn't retailiate, and that was cocky? This guy just can not win!

It was meant to be a brief description, but yeah I tend to make sentences longer then they have to be. The point of the topic was how it can be a good thing for the nba.

It might end up a little bit more, but I think that is about right. He was provoked, but threw punches at fans, so instead of a season long suspension, a 30 game suspension is right.

you know what all of the players and fans involved should be sued

slinky
11-21-2004, 10:11 PM
That would be pointless if they both sue eachother, no one loses money. Getting fined is what both will get, and the fans will get banned, and players suspended.
