He really didn't do as bad as your showing it for a rookie QB with all that hype to come out and lose14-10

you know what lawerance is right, did you guys realize this was his first ever NFL game, being a starting qb. it is gonna be tuff for a guy, and it is gonnab e even tougher to play a 7-2 team at the time. if you look at the stats it doesnt look so good, but how many guys with there first career start could do any better? not many, I do hate eli but still it was just his first game

It was probably about as good as could be expected. I loved how Jimmy Johnson made excuses for the Giants saying the reason they dropped so many passes is because Eli throws so much harder than Warner.

1 name.
Ben...Roethlisberger lol
Well then I guess he did do pretty good. If anything, he's at least better than the Bears starting rookie QB. He's a Manning, he'll get good soon, sadly..
Magus, you missed some pics there.

For being his first career start I actually think he did a good job. He started off slow and made some mistakes but picked it up a bit later on. It was a good learning experience for him.

he did really good for the first start of his career. it was against a good team, and even though his stats may not be too great, they dont take into account the dropped passes by giants receivers. i believe there were 6 drops. and it was only his first game. its still too early to tell how good he will be.
I love the hit he got from the Eagles, in the preseason, I believe.

His potential is what makes him so good. Who knows. In a couple years from now he could be right up there with big brother Peyton. Not likely but he'll get better with time and experience.

No, that was the season opener. Taught him he needed to have his head on a swivel in the NFL though.
As Don pointed out it was not all Eli's fault. I did not watch the game, but from what I heard on post game shows his reciever's were dropping passes left and right on him.

Shockey must have dropped at least 5 passes; proves what a great player he is. ;)

Eli's first TD pass was to Shockey.
Not saying he's great. Just thought I would point it out in case somebody didn't know.

He did much better than I thought he would actually. He threw a touchdown pass. That is much more than I expected from him. And they only lost by 4 points which a huge accomplishment for facing a team like the Falcons for his first game in the NFL regular season.

Its crazy how all the mannings first career td passes were all 6 yarders.
