The trade would be Jason Kendall for Mark Redman and Arthur Rhodes. The A's only need Kendall to waive his no-trade clause.

Good deal for the Pirates. Kendall never got back to where he was before his injury and has a huge salary. Pirates need SP'ing bad anyway and Redman is solid.

I can't say I agree with you. Redman is solid, but the Pirates already have 3 good young SPs so it's not like they have a great need for him. And RHodes flat-out sucks. But Kendall hit .319 and had a .399 OBP. He will be a great #2 hitter for the A's next year.

wow, nice trade. I feel the Pirates would be getting slightly the better end of the deal, but still a good trade.

Good trade for both sides. Look at the A's pitching, they don't need Redman or Rhodes really. And the Pirates are getting some good pitchers and losing one of their better players, but he won't make them win anything anyway. The A's could use a better cather anyway, so it is pretty fair for both sides as far as I am concerned.

Not exactly getting rid of the salary they wanted to by trading Kendall, but a good deal nonetheless. Tell me something Pirates fans, who's going to replace Kendall for Pittsburgh?

That is a very good question. Maybe they will make another trade or something. If they don't they aren't going to have a very good team this year. And if you are asking the Pirates fans, you might be waiting a while for an answer since I don't know any on this site.

What the hell are the A's doing taking on his rediculous contract?

Something stinks about this rumor. How much of the tab are the Pirates taking up?

.399 OBP, I'll take it.

I don't think this is a good deal for Pittsburgh, depending on how much of Kendall's contract they do pay. Kendall is a very solid hitter (though overpaid), and they gert Redman, a #4 or #5 starter, and Arthur Rhodes, who they don't really need. If the Pirates would actually use the money they save from this deal, it wouldn't be so bad, but I doubt they will.

Any word if they are getting closer to completing this deal yet?

*lol*

Why is what i said so funny? I actually belive it is a good trade for the Bucs to do. Freeing up that kind of money could give them alot of good options. Of course Kendall is a valuable player, but not worth anywhere what he is being paid in my opinon.

I think it would be better for the A's because Rhodes is'nt that good and the A's still have Zito Moulder Hudson and Harden.
