Mets Not Giving Al Option

THe mets will not be giving Al Leiter his 10 million dollar option for 2005 ..this is happy time in mets history...he had a low era but just ruined our bullpen

lieter was pretty much the ace of the staff since he joined them, I believe in '98.
I was hoping they would keep him but oh well. How did he destroy the bullpen? Not going deep into games or what?

He always had a low era but always walked people so his pith count in the 5th inning was pretty high so int he bottom 5th - top of 6th the bullpen always to come in
