Apparently the NHLPA thinks that they can save the season with this new deal.
Thank God!

Wait... is it saying there will be a cap or not?
With no cap it won't happen.

No word on what the new plan is...but Sean Doan said:
`This is a proposal that if they say no and won't flat-out negotiate, we can sleep at night because we're giving a lot back and doing everything we can to try and save the season.'
So that means that if the owners don't except, then we're pretty much screwed over for a hockey season.

this is dumb.. hockey lost lots of fans and stuff because of this.. i really dont feel like watching hockey this year now because they were stupid and took way to long to figure something out. if it works good for hockey.. if not.. then hockey is screwed.

Well, hockey wont be screwed... there will be an NHL season next year, if not, more leagues will form and within years will be the new main hockey league... and there wasn't really any fans to lose, most hockey fans will always like hockey no amtter what happens to the NHL.

I know what you mean. If there is a hockey season this year, I refuse to go to any NHL games(just to stick it to the man).

The lockout isn't over. It's just that negotiations are starting. I believe the owners still have to approve.

Hey, it got some discussion started... I hope this gets resolved soon, and a salary cap may be nice... but I don't really care that much.

What is your guys' opinions on how long the lock-out will last? I am predicting the end of the 2004-2005 season, and hope I am long on it.. probably not though. :(

If the next meeting produces nothing, then there will be no season.
No doubt about it.
