he has about 28tds and 6 ints compared 2 whites about 33tds and 6ints...usc's conference is very weak and so is there schedule.Ou has had a pretty hard schedule and there in a hard conference. This is very sad.Why didn't White win it?cause he all ready did.Why didn't peterson win it?cause hes a freshmen. These people that vote for these need to know its for the best player in college football and lienhart is not the best player in college football.White or Peterson deserve it more then him and thats just a fact but because these voters are to stubborn to let a freshmen win it or let a dude win it 2 yrs in a row(only happen once before)that is why lienhart won it.

I agree. White did great but Peterson should have won. He had an awesome season and was possibly the best player out there. Maybe next season. *gloomy*

Stats alone don't decide who wins, there are other factors

Stats alone may not win it but you can't argue with the greatness of over 1800 rushing yards, 15 TD's, 100+ yards in 11 of 12 games and three 200+ yard games.

Wow. First of all you can spell his name right. MATT LEINART. Ok now thast that is finished... Matt does deserve it, but lemme tell you something I would have said that same thing if any body else woulda won it. Every one of them deserve it, its just that Matt got the most votes. they are all very good players and will all make pretty good pros someday (IMO). Matt will make a better pro QB than Jason and Alex though because he has shown more for hsi team this year than Jason has and is clearly better than Alex. (Alex did give more to his team because he had no one else there in Utah to back him up.) I am jusy very happy that Matt won because I am a HUGE USC fan!

Peterson should have won. Hands down. True Freshman, runs for 1800+ yards with his 1000+ in his first 7 games.. leaving 5 more for 800 yards.. thats immaculate. He also had what.. 15.. somethin close td's? I believe Peterson should have won EASILY.

I think that Peterson should have won since he had such a great year. Most running backs in the NFL don't get that many yards in a year. Those numbers are just too good to ignore. College Football is really screwed up.

yeah
College Football is a joke.......... A BIG JOKE... If its not the BCS that screws it up this does.. Adrian Peterson was the best player in the country and in my eyes could already be in an NFL uniform.. i think he hands down deserves the hiesman

White had a great RB that took the load off of him. Leinart had Bush, but Peterson is more feared as a runner than Bush is. USC had to replace almost it's whole line, and it's recievers. Leinart was still great.

What about JJ Arrington? 1845 yards as compared to 1843 yards for Peterson, in one less game. One less TD than Peterson.

What about Cedric Benson? Less than 100 yards less than Peterson had, and again in one less game. 4 more TD than Peterson. And this is without a good passing QB on the team.

I don't know who I would pick as the best of these three this year. They were all great. Going simply by numbers, I would say Arrington and Benson had better years than Peterson. They are all great backs. None of them should have won the Heisman easily as you suggest.

I couldn't agree more I thought the heisman goes to the best OVERALL player thats why the award should have gone to Lienhart's teamate Reggie Bush.

Here's my take on it

Leinert is probably the best QB in the country. He manages the game well, doesn't panic, versatile, not neccesarily Mike Vick or anything, but he is a tremendous talent, and he will definately do well in the NFL. Peterson is a AWESOME talent, I mean, this kid is DI-SGUS-TING. These are the two real candidates from the two teams. And don't worry, Reggie Bush will win that dad-blamed award next season, then jet for the Pros. Peterson'll win it in 2 years. Jason White is two things. One, overrated, because he won the thing last season, and two, because he has such great talent around him. Sure, Leinert does too, but Leinert doesn't have all those WR. USC's got some definate NFL-quality WRs on their roster, but OU's WRs are just sick nasty.
