Dec 13 - Ken Rosenthal of The Sporting News, Peter Gammons of ESPN and the Chicago Sun-Times are all reporting (http://www.bravesnews.com/articles/braves/6001122.shtml) that the Braves have stepped in an effort to aquire start RF Sammy Sosa. In order for any deal to occur the Braves want the Cubs to pay a sizable portion of the '05 salary, and additionally pay $4.5 M of his '06 salary. Most likely Andruw Jones would be sent to the Cubs, along with Dan Meyer and two other prospects.

Thats HILARIOUS.. plus its pete gammons so 90 % chance it aint happenin.. especially Andruw AND Meyere AND more for just p.o.s. Sammy Sooser. If the Cubs pulled that off they would RAPE the Braves.. and my baseball trainer is an associate scout of the Braves heh.

They don't need Andruw Jones. Patterson is a nice centerfielder.

Where else will you get cork from? Oh yea, it's always in the other team's clubhouse in October, nevermind. I didn't know Sammy had access like that.

He is saying that the Braves get to the playoffs(October)every year. Then, they lose and the other team does the thing with champaign.(cork)

I think that is what he meant.

I thought Chad had some good stuff, almost as funny as when he was talking crap to me when Yankees went up 3-0 we all know how that turned out.

If they(braves) really offered that up to the Cubs, the Cubs better jump that crap. Andruw alone for Sammy I would take in a heartbeat.. let alone with 3 prospects.

Get rid of Sosa, you still got ramirez, you could get jones, you got lee, patterson, nomar, barrett (who could drive you in some runs, sometimes). so why not just trade him, all he does is hit homers what did he hit last year??? .253?????? probably less than that.
