This Sunday the Colts Peyotn Manning broke Dan Marino's historic TD record in a single season. But along with Peyton, Brett Favre was the first player in NFL history to play 200 games in a row. But which record is more impressive?

Brett Favre. With today's defenses, it is amazing how he can live through it this long. TD passes is good too, but the QB is so vulnerable.

yes, I agree bretts, I mean 2 people have had 48 td's, favre has beaten the single game record by over 70 games I believe, still a great record for peyton!

no no no, I am a huge fan of both, peyton and favre are my two favorite qb's and they always will be, but think about it favre has played through injuries, losses in his family, cold weather, all kinds of stuff, for about 13 straight years, peytons record is great but someone actually had been on the same level as him at one time, for favre no one has

In the same game, LT set the record for consecutive rushing touchdowns and Gates set the record for TD catches by a TE in a season...

What a record setting game! Peyton will get probably 0 TD's next week if Dungy was smart and doesnt play him cause they locked up the 3rd seed, and are playing for nothing. Maybe a drive or 2 so hes not rusty.

He'll play for sure.

Peytons is more impressive.. Why? Because its SO hard to defend an offense when the QB can have like.. 3 or 4 called plays.. and just tear your defense apart so easily and audible out the perfect play to beat the D. Sure Brett played a lot of games in a row.. but Id like to see Favre throw that many TD's with as little INT's as Peyton. Peyton is the best QB and the smartest player in the NFL, hands down.

Cheers to Peyton!!!

Out of Archie, Eli, and Peyton, Peyton is the only one I like. I hate the other two. And Peyton's on my fantasy team this year. Thanks Peyton!

The Colts WR's... Marvin, Brandon, Reggie.. yeah, all have over 1000 receiving yards.. that is UNHEARD OF!! Why, because Peyton is that damn good. And what he does on the field for his team makes his record more impressive then playing a bunch of games in a row.

Do anyone think it is a coincidence that the year they inforce that stuiped hand check rule is the year Peyton explodes? Come on, yea his record is great, but come on! The DB's can't touch the guys anymore. It's just not fair to the guys. Plus I mean the "pass" he tied it with was a SHOVEl pass!! Come on that doesn't count

Your right LT's record with 12 straight games with a TD and Gates with 13 TD's is very impressive but I was trying to foucs on QB's.

That's not true. I mean you can hand check but you can't grab, push or trip. That doesn't make much of a difference when a reciever has to catch a ball. They can check they just can't do anything excessive. Anyway you put it, Manning's record is amazin, mostly because think of how much concentration it takes to throw a ball that accurately to a reciever and him be able to go in stride to get a TD. Same thing for LT he takes more hit's a game than any QB and he's gettin TD's like crazy.

peyton plays in basically no condiditons, I dont see 15 MPH winds in domes, I dont see snow and 10 degree tempatures, if you were to take peyton out and play like that all the time, he wouldnt come close to record. favre would never get that many td's, but if you throw him in a dome I dont think it would be too diffacult, plus if you have him marvin harrison and wayne, then I think any QB could do it. yes peyton is amazing, of course he is but he does have alot of help

A good reciever is nothin without a QB to get it to him. Like if you put Jay Fiedler in there over Peyton, do you think Jay would do good? No, he can't do good with Chambers, Booker, and McMichaels. He can't even throw the ball either. Don't say that with those recievers anyone can do it. If you can have the accuracy everytime you throw to get it down field right into the recievers arms, then I'll say you win.

all you have to do is look at peytons finger, that says it all.......do you see a ring?

..I dont think so, records mean nothing, either does favres, super bowl wins mean something.

but I still gotta love both!

Super Bowl Rings = Best
Joe Montana with 4 of them = Best

Yeah.

Anyways, even as a Packer fan, I gotta go with Peyton. Favre's record can easily be broken. You can put some scrub in as a starter every game for 1 play then take him out and do that for as long as you want, he will shatter the record. You can't do anything like that with Peyton's TD Passes.

The hand check rule has nothing to do with it. The receivers usually burn the DB's anyway.

Uh, isn't the record 200 straight starts, not just 200 games played?

Uh, isn't the record 200 straight starts, not just 200 games played?

Then you can start a scrub however many games in a row to break it and just pull him out after 1 or 2 plays.

Like I said, start him for the first play of the game and then take him out.

Sure you can, but people won't respect the record the same way if you broke it that way.

But still, respectfully or not, the record is broken. Like when Aaron passed Ruth in the home run record, they hated him for doing it, but it still happened.
