Great signing for them. The Reds NEED pitching desperately and got some. Plus, takes away another one of George's options.

Also, its been reported that Kevin Millwood and the Tribe are negotiating a deal and its looking very good.

The Yanks don't really need Milton anymore anyway. Mussina, Brown, Pavano, Vazquez, Wright. They have a nice rotation.

Poor Reds. I can't imagine why they would want a guy who gives up 40+ homeruns a year. I guess they are desperate for SP'ing though.

Two of those guys you cant count on right to do what they did last year.. Wright had a good year, but its his one and only. Pavano might have had another.. but hes about the same as Wright. Moose got tore up last year, Brown acts like a baby and punches walls and hurts himself but hes good otherwise, and Vazquez is probably your best starter.

Nice pickup for the Reds and now they should try to get another SP.

Was 2nd in the MLB last year in HR's allowed. Can you picture this guy in Cincy? Overpaying him, 8.5 mill a year for someone who honestly last year didnt do that well. Yes I do realize Milton is a good pitcher but I dont think worth 8.5 mill a year. Doesnt look like the greatest move for Cincy but either way its help where Cincy needs it the most. This team faced a pretty tough lost in their rotation (lidle), Milton pretty much makes up for the loss. As for Cincy, rotation might not be too much better but they did an excellent job improving that bullpen.

Well he has only done that one year, 2004. And if you take into consideration park factors and the like, Philly's BP is Coors Field lite. GABP is really pretty much a neutral park from the stats I remember (maybe slightly a homerun park.) That still doesnt change the fact that is Miltons biggest downfall, and he will likely give up another 30+. What the positives are is he keeps his BAA down, a solid K/BB ratio and he is a potential 200IP+.

With that said, it does help, but that contract flat out SUCKS.

Jeez.. are all the damned FA pitchers going to sign a 3 year 25.5 mil contract?!?

Eric Milton was the most overrated pitcher in baseball last year. I guess that's what a winning record will do for ya.

He helped my fantasy team with the wins!:) ERA sucked though.

i love how nomarfan has to immediately point out how every deal over the course of the offseason affects the yankees, what the hell is wrong with you?

What the hell is wrong with you punk? It does affect the Yankees because he was George's second option, so stfu before you go calling me out like that. Just because most of the stuff the Yankees are after have been getting signed and I say it gives them one less option doesnt mean you go and flame on me. *violent*

Milton was coming off of injury and I decided to look at his pre-All Star Game and post-All Star Game splits and here is the positives/negatives (for Reds fans) that catched my eye:

Negatives:
ERA remained similar in both
Homerun totals were similar in both

Positives:
Opponets batted .281 preASG, only .227 postASG.
k/9 improved from pre to post.
BB/9 lowered.
His IP per start on average increased from pre to post.

Look at his sig and you'll understand why. He shows no respect to the Falcons in football, either. *blush*

What the hell does my sig have to do with anything.. and yes i do give the falcons respect.. I jsut dont like vick. And where did i put down what the yankees are trying to do.. I simply said that this option of George's is now gone... I dont see how that fits together.

Oh this is nice... maybe they will now finish 5th instead of 6th in the NL Central.

nice signing. he is a little overrated, but still a nice pitcher. upset to see that there is no chance for the yanks to get him, but there really is no room for him now that they got johnson they dont need another lefty. although george would have overpaid.

Gets it.

But, I was hoping the Yanks would get Milton.

Why would you want NYY to pickup another good Pitcher. Your not a Yankee fan in disguise are you? *eyebrow* ;)

Anyways, nice pickup for CIN. A good LHP starter that can be a great 1-3 starter. Somewhat young too.

Compared to contracts other MLB Players are getting, Milton's contract looks about right..

Why would you want NYY to pickup another good Pitcher.

Because then Milton could have a 21-3 record with that offense, but still have an ERA above 4.5!

I didn't want them to pick up another good pitcher. I wanted them to pick up Eric Milton.
