When are the Rockets going to wise up and rid themselves of Jeff Van Grumpy? Good grief we have a team that should atleast be a minimal contender. The Rockets look lost out there...

They'd play better if Yao wasn't horrible. He's the least aggressive player I've ever seen. How are you supposed to be a superstar averaging under 10 and under 20, even though you're the tallest guy in the NBA?

Shawn Bradley is taller. ;) Still Yao should be putting up better numbers than he has.

Yao needs to get cheated on in the middle of a game or punched in the balls or something to get mad.

I'm not talking about that kind of agressiveness, he just doesn't attack the boards. I saw a Raptors-Knicks game a while back, and when the ball came off the rim for an open rebound, instead of going up and grabbing it, Yao held Kurt Thomas back as Trev Ariza grabbed the rebound. *stupid* Only 3 guys in the area too.

That is exactly what he needs, maybe that will make him mad - thus a force that can't be stopped. Right now he is just a tall dude with a bit of game.
What I can't figure out is why he (in the past) has stepped it up against Shaq, Duncan, and even KG?!
Frustrating. *mad*

What the Rockets needs isn't a new coach, but better defense. T-Mac and Jackson are giving half hearted efforts on defense, and McGrady on offense as well. The Rockets have no supporting cast either, their point guard position is mighty weak, and Howard and Taylor are useless on defense. McGrady will always be a offense player, not a playmaker, or point guard. He could, but has no desire.

Yes they should show up to play every night, but with that said the coach is the one who pushes the buttons. JVG has done a sub par job.
My vote - dump JVG and go out and get Phil Jackson. Jackson has the ability to come in here and revamp this team into his own image. Something the Rockets are clearly lacking (identity).

Jackson won't go at all. Phil goes to teams that are close to winning, the Rockets are point guards, shooting guards, and power fowards away from being even playoff worthy. JVG's kind of team is a defensive team that milks the clock.
