He didnt let them slip away, I dont think he was ever really going for those two in the first place. He was more interested in getting more pitching help which was smart. Because the Yankees needed pitching out the ass and still need more.

I'm so sure the Yankees need more pitching. They have a great bullpen now and they filled up their rotation. Their biggest need was a lefty starter and they happened to get the best one in the league. It's good to see the Mets are finally getting the players they really needed. Before Minaya they failed to get A-Rod and Guerrero but with him as GM they got both Beltran and Pedro.

Minaya is either top one or two GM's that ever existed. ;) Look what he's done with the Expos and such little money and now the Mets are going to be Killer this year.
