*eyebrow* Uh, joking right? How do you hope for someone to get hurt? Thats like me saying I hope you drop dead on the spot.

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 08:56 PM
I do hope he gets injured because of what him and Boras did to Houston...not only did he pass up on our offer, but he kept us waiting so all the other free agents were signed...

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 08:58 PM
They could have signed whoever they want. Don't blame him for passing on your offer! He has to do what's best for him.

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 09:02 PM
Not when they focused all their attention on him and knew that he would be the only signing they could make with the salary figures this team has

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 09:05 PM
You still shouldn't hope he gets injured for that.
I hope you fall down your stairs, break 200 bones in your body (I think you have 206) so your parents can't afford anything except medical bills and you live on the streets thinking of how greedy Beltran is and you should never wish pain amongst others.

So pssht.

Your correct Arsenal. And I agree with arsenal fully, and then some. You have 206 bones.. but I bet you didnt know you are born with over 300 bones. *banana*

Heh.. anatomy is such an easy subject for me since i pwn in science. Suck at math though. Anyways.. I hope you fall down the stairs.. blah blah.. and instead of breaking 200 I hope you break them PLUS the ones that arent there anymore! HAHA *lol*

I dont think Beltran will be feeling much pain with the 119 million he has in his pocket...he will regret this decision when he bats .260 and Mets fan want him gone...

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 09:31 PM
I highly doubt that. He can pay them to make them like him. :P

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 09:35 PM
How can you call Minaya one of the best gm's ever...what has he done so good..The Expos sucked and now he comes to New York and is given the ability to outbid every single person..Anyone can be a good gm when they are given more money than anyone else...2005 Mets prediction..80-82...Pedro and Benson do average, Piazza and Floyd get hurt for the season or FLoyd demands a trade, and Beltran(a career .220 hitter at Shea) bats .260-28-75.....

He doesnt hit much higher then that anyone.. so once again you lose. Just quit before you get into something you cant get out of. It would be smart.

Actually he has a .287 career average and is just now starting to enter his prime where many people think he can hit well over .300...So hitting 27 points below your career average is what is expected? especially after his huge contract and all the attention he has gotten...looks like your the dumbass...

Looks like your a dumbass for fighting with one of, if not the, most knowledgeable baseball members on this board.

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 10:13 PM
Well he's not that knowledgable if he says .260 is close to what Beltran bats anyway.

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 10:30 PM
I Really don't like you so far. :-0

Stop bickering children!!!

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 10:38 PM
Sorry I didnt give this guy his "respect" he deserves...he really does seem like a knowledgable person to me.

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 10:39 PM
He is.

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 10:44 PM
What has he been right about...the fact that I said Beltran should get hurt and him telling me not to ever wish pain onto someone doesnt say anything about his baseball knowledge to me...

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 10:46 PM
Not in this thread, in other threads as well.

Who cares? I am sure Mr. Beltran won't give a rat's pitute what anybody says. He can clinch his money in both fists and do whatever he wants. As for all the knowledgeable baseball fans, do what I did and get a job as a sportscaster. Show off your knowledge and respect for the game. Tell of the games of yore and lazy afternoons at the ol' ballpark. Give young children the gift of Manush and Cobb, while we avoid being ignorant of the talent's of today's stars. Sometimes, it is easy to become so obsessed with the good old days that we forget to pay attention to the magic of the present. Be proud to be a baseball fan and stop the pointless bickering.

Are you spokesman?...he's the one that brought this on anyway.

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 11:17 PM
No, how the hell does that make me spokesman, saying that hes smart with baseball knowledge?

Mike4235
01-09-2005, 11:35 PM
How do you know he has more baseball knowledge than me?? he knows he is wrong about Beltran's batting stats...I would expect more from an "knowledgable" person..

Arsenal
01-09-2005, 11:36 PM
OMG! Call the cops! He got a little batting average stat wrong! Someone prosecute this man now!
*rollyeyes

Mike4235

OMG! Call the cops! He got a little batting average stat wrong! Someone prosecute this man now!
*rollyeyes

A little batting average stat wrong?? Batting average is a huge stat...its not like we were talking about runs created per 27 innings or some crazy stat like that...He was nearly 30 points off Beltrans batting average...I guess that is just a minor mistake...

You 2 cut the bickering or I'm locking this thread!

Ok, I planned on stopping anyway.

NomarFan5
01-10-2005, 01:12 AM
Uhm how was I 30 points off his career batting average when all I said was he doesnt bat that much higher then 260.. I bet he will bat around 275 with about 23 homers and 103 RBI in NY. He should have stayed with either Houston where he was doing very well. Or somewhere where he could have the opportunity to actually get in the playoffs. Like normal the NL East will be won by the Braves, and the WC will go in the NL Central to whomever wants to fight for it and STL will win the Central, then the Giants will win the West. Beltran will give a rats ass because if he doesnt, he will not get a warm welcome in NY. Im sure Pedro will get a nice welcome too in the subway series as well. Id love to see Beltran hit 300 dont get me wrong hes damn good.. but I just dont think in that offense and that team, he will get the chance to do so, persay if he was in Houston or with the Yankees.

Edit: Oh yeah, and that is how you lose. You make assumptions and put words in my mouth. I never said I had more knowledge then you, and there was no need for you to call me a dumbass either.

Mike4235
01-10-2005, 01:57 AM
Well by saying I lose and I need to stop because I dont know what I'm getting myself into seems like an insult to my intelligence...I said Beltran would hit .260 and he is a career .287 hitter...thats 27 points or almost 30 points below like I said, which is much higher than .260...The later part of this arguement wasn't not at all directed to you it was with Arsenal who said I'm the dumbass for argueing with one of the most knowledgable people...Anyway, this is over and I can have my opinion and you can have yours....

NomarFan5
01-10-2005, 06:32 PM
So in essence, you just proved that I was right. I said he wouldnt hit much higher then what you proclaimed he would.. so I dont see where you got that I was wrong. But it was wrong to argue with Arsenal and myself and to say that you want Beltran to get hurt.

Mike4235
01-10-2005, 06:58 PM
No, you said he normally doesnt hit much higher than .260 anyway and he is a career .287 hitter, which is much higher than .260.

What does arguing BA points have to do with a discussion on Beltran being signed? And didn't I tell you to drop it? This thread is closed.
