Billy Koch is back with the Jays.

He went 1-1 with eight saves and a 5.40 ERA in 24 games with the Chicago White Sox last year, then was dealt to Florida for a minor league prospect and cash on June 17. He went 1-2 with a 3.51 ERA in 23 games with the Marlins.

Koch, 30, was the Blue Jays' first round selection and fourth pick overall in the 1996 amateur draft. He spent his first three seasons with Toronto and has 163 career saves and a 3.89 ERA

I hope he can regain his old form with the team that made him a commodity. If he returns to the form he had with the A's that will be a great pickup for the Jays.

What happened to him? Did he have arm problems?

I never heard about any arm problems either. Maybe he did though. There is not other logical explanation for why someone so good suddenly became so bad.

When he went to the Sox he had no control and although not really any major arm problems his velocity was at about 90-93...about 5 or 6 mph below what he used to throw...Dont know if it was mental or physical.

He is suckness since he lost control and velocity. Doesnt necessarily have to do with being in the CHI SOX org.. but he lost those.. and he get pounded like nail with hammer.

I am a Koch hater as much as you guys, but I actually think Koch will help the Jays' depleated bullpen.

I doubt it especially in the AL East with all the offense from Baltimore, Red Sox, and Yankees.

i remember one game koch was pitching and he gave up a walk off 3-run home run against carl crawford, and the night before that he had given up a walk off home run to someone else
