Johnson for sure. At at over 40 years old he is still the most dominant pitcher in the game. Racks up tons of innings, very low hits and walks totals and had almost 300 K's last year.

Schilling would be 2nd. He is no Johnson but since becoming a teammate of Johnson's he has become one of the best pitchers in the game.

Pedro on the other hand, he is getting older and is injury prone. Also had an ERA near 4 last year. Clearly not the dominant pitcher he used to be.

yeah thats all true and i agree 100%

and now that johnson wont have to bat that may help him save some energy,so that energy can be put behind a flaming fastball.

and on the other hand pedro now has to bat, run the bases, and risk getting hit while batting which could lead to an injury keeping him out for a while

Yeah I agree. Pedro wont be able to throw at hitters as much because the pitchers can hit him when he bats..

especially since he has a ritual of hitting every 100th batter

Who the hell are you kidding? Did you ever see Pedro pitch with the Expos?

Reggie Sanders charged the mound because Pedro was pitching inside...Pedro will pitch the same and might go back to his below 3.00 ERA in Shea

Lets see of course all you Yankee fans would take Johnson. Id take the Pedro of Expos over any of those guys any day of the week. But Id take Schilling, but not just because hes a Red Sock. Him and Johnson are close.. but Johnson has nothing else besides heat. Schilling can mix it up, move in and out, change speeds, has some heat of his own, along with a splitter, slider, curve, and change. Johnson.. Fastball and Slider is about all he throws. Plus Johnson has 0 cartiledge in his knees which will kill him sooner or later.. most likely VVERRYY MUCH sooner.

Curt Schilling. And not just because he is a sox pitcher. Johnson will never get respect from me again, and Pedro, well, he can take his NYM hat and stick it up his ass.

I'd go with Schilling, because after the heart he showed in the postseason this past year, he is my choice. :)

Of course a Red Sox fan takes Schilling :P . I go with Johnson I dont care if he just throws a fastball and slider. He has built up one of the greatest careers ever just going off those two pitches. He is the greatest pitcher in baseball right now. Next would be Schilling. Guy still got zip, is very accurate, and mixes it up. As for Pedro, I am really not sure. When he gets in one of those grooves he can be very good. But it may be hard to do that with how injury prone he is. His numbers will be better though, he is now in a stadium that isnt exactly a homerun ballpark plus being in the NL always helps numbers. Just too many questions with Pedro.

Like I said.. I didnt pick Schilling based on him being on the Red Sox.

And what about Schilling's leg?

To me, it's Johnson.
He may only have a Slider and Fastball, but that's all he neds with his 6'10" prescence scaring rookies (except Marcus Thames who hit the first pitch he saw in the Majors for a HR off RJ). He may be getting old (41), but he's better than Schilling. Schilling did very good this year, but a Perfect Game is very hard to get. Schilling busted his leg and it has to heal. He is a very good pitcher, but I think he might start to fade away if it is serious enough. Pedro is on the end of his career. He has 3 good years left, his arm is 90% shot (Yes, it's true) and he is Injury Prone. He had an ERA of 3.90 I believe. Where does that ERA rank? Last among ALL of his years in the Majors.
Here's his stats by year:
1992: 2.25 (LA), 21 yrs, 8 IP
1993: 2.65 (LA), 22 yrs, 107 IP
1994: 3.42 (MON), 23 yrs, 144.2 IP
1995: 3.51 (MON), 24 yrs, 194.2 IP
1996: 3.70 (MON), 25 yrs, 216.2 IP
1997: 1.90 (MON), 26 yrs, 241.1 IP, Cy Young
1998: 2.89 (BOS), 27 yrs, 233.2 IP
1999: 2.07 (BOS), 28 yrs, 213.1 IP, Cy Young
2000: 1.74 (BOS), 29 yrs, 217 IP, Cy Young
2001: 2.39 (BOS), 30 yrs, 116.2 IP
2002: 2.26 (BOS), 31 yrs, 199.1 IP
2003: 2.22 (BOS), 32 yrs, 186.2 IP
2004: 3.90 (BOS), 33 yrs, 217 IP
2005: ?.?? (NYM), 34 yrs, ?? / ??? IP

The Red Sox were smart not to resign him, he'll make it to the HOF, but he won't get 300 wins (probably 250).

1. Johnson
2. Schilling
3-19. Some others guys
20. Pedro
