It's an online community where you fill out a profile and can upload pics. You can talk with people from your area or with fellow classmates; searching by zip code or school names. It's also a place to look up local bands and other popular bands. You can download their music too (few songs). The site has blogs, so you can keep a personal journal in private or viewable to the public.

It's a livejournal that can upload pictures and is much more visually active. I have one just for the hell of it since a bunch of people at my school have one.
