Not to overshadow Acid's thread, it's just something I've been thinking of.
What would be your all time favorite system that you would like to see a company make.
Mine: Mercury
Company: SEGA
It would be awsome if they came out with a system that cartridge slot on the top of it that can play all cartridge SEGA games, and a CD tray for Saturn and Dreamcast disc. It would also be able to play DVD's and Audio CD. Maybe even be able to hook up to MP3 players and store MP3's on there. At launch, it would be supported by an awsome launch line up which would consist of Sonic Adventure 3 with updated graphics, a better camera, and brought Sonic back to his routes, NiGHTS into Dreams 2 that played just like the original with updated graphics and some new elements, and a bunch of other great games Sega is known for. It would also be supported by the revival of Sega Channel, and would come with a unique type of Online Service (an online service via Satalite) The system would be black with some green (not like Xbox's Neon Green, more like a darker green) and would be the size of a Sega saturn, if not a bit smaller and would have a hip, sleek design. The controllers would be like a much more smaller, comfortable version of the Virtual Boy controller. The graphics would be next gen like the rest of the systems, and it would gain 3rd party support.
And in the end, it would kick PS3's Ass of course :)

Hmm.. Well it would be pretty much my hopes for revolution, as unrealistic as they are.
It would be called:
Nintendo Revolution
It would look very sleek and cool and come in a veriety of colors, black being the normal color. It would be about 1.5 inches high, and about 8 inches across and about 6 inches width. It would have a disk tray like X-box and PS2, that could fit normal sized CDs and Gamecube disks. It could play DVD's, CDs, have a hardrive, free online play, slightly modified gamecube controlers that are built in wireless, etc etc.
All for only 200 bucks, CANADIAN. So like 160 or so for Americans.

Oh no friggin way, that was the same one I had in mind!!! However it would not have a disk tray like X-box and PS2, that could fit normal sized CDs, it would not play DVD's, CDs, have a hardrive. Now we are talking the perfect VIDEOGAME system, not a multimedia device like the other competetion. What were the odds unless you already have been aware of the revolution thats coming this way!!! Viva La Revolution!

It would be free, it would cure cancer, end world hunger, bring about world peace, make you a sandwitch, and if there's room, play games.

I say all must announce their outcries of joy towards this game machine that is Revolution. It is true though I did steal it, but in the end I think it is safe to say that all Nintendo fans have a right to support Nintendos revolution they are creating, and Koten if I couldnt beat you I joined you...and by joined I mean, VIVA LA REVOLUTION! Say it loud, say it proud lyoal Nintendo fans.

I kinda like that Sega Mercury idea. Too bad they don't make consoles anymore.

The perfect system would be one that does variouse things.
1. It can play all types of games.
2. It can play D.V.D's
3. When you get lonely at night, it touches you in all those right places.

Sega Revelations (biblical reference to Sega Genesis)
Primary Game Format: DVD-9
Backwards compatible with: Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast
Optional Expansion port for Genesis and Master System games
The idea would be to cater to a hardcore Arcade audience that are dejected from the industry due to big name games like Halo and Grand Theft Auto. Developers would include Treasure, SNK, Taito, Raizing, Seibu, Psikyo, Arc System Works, hitmaker, Alfa System, and all the ex-Capcom 2D animators that left after Capcom Japan sold the Street Fighter licecense to Capcom USA.
Rather that vying for a peice of Microsoft and Sony's pie, it could be successful among it's own audience of hardcore gamers.
