View Full Version : Better Graphics, Resident Evil 4 or Halo 2?

I know to some that might sound like a stupid question, but I had a debate about it at lunch today. I personally think that RE4 has better graphics than Halo 2, but my friend Adam (who is a Xbox Fanboy) try to say that NO game out beats the graphics of Halo 2. Now I think Halo 2's graphics are good, but I don't think they're the best, but I could be wrong. So what do you think is better? (Remember, this is just based off graphics, not gameplay).

Considering just about every major multi-console gaming publication has RE4 is hands down the best looking game of this generation, I think that answers it.

I've played both and sure Halo 2 does look good but there are times in RE4 you'd damn near swear it's next gen.

Personally The Chronicles of Riddick kicked the shit out of Halo 2.

Resident evil 4 is spectacular however, and no graphical hiccups. Bosses looked the best, but the whole feel of re4 was more realistic, graphically. Great textures and lighting.

Halo 2 was good though, but the entire craze about the graphics were out of place, everything felt fake, but the lighting was certainly the best, covenent weapons. The game also had too much bumpmapping, and I don't know if there was any normal mapping, but it didn't seem like it.

Re4 for me.

that question to me is a total no-brainer....RE4 for sure. i have seen halo 2 graphics and there is no question in my mind that RE4 has better graphics. have you ever took the time in RE4 to stop and look at the water graphics, they are completly amazing! its almost like your watching a movie! and the blood spatter on RE4 is also really good

Depends. At times halo 2 has better graphics due to the system having a higher graphic engine than gamecube. I haven't bought resident evil 4 yet (planning to this weekend) so i cant say for shure.

going by what little i've seen of RE4, im gonna have to say RE4. although Halo 2 does look quite spiffy.

Halo 2 is an incredible game, the graphics are great! I like the bumpmapping,specular lighting, physics.
RE-4 amazes me, I am so impressed by this game. Grapically it excells, some minor complaints though, aliasing could have been improved, some textures are muddy.
I give both games the nod, Some areas Halo 2 is more impressive, in others RE-4 delivers!

Overall RE-4 gets 1st place, mainly because these killer visuals are rendered on this tiny cube, the character models are insane, and the lightning/rain effects are freaky cool!

Yeah.....Nintendo!!!

If your gonna compare game's make sure it's the pinicle of BOTH consoles. As far as Halo 2 and Re4 go, i'd give the nod to Re4. However seeing as Halo 2 is not the best showpony (it does look good though) i'd match up the cubes best Re4 vs SplnterCell CT or UC2 or Doom3. any one of these games looks better.

You posted this on the NNow forum that is primarily gives info on Nintendo games. Then you posted it in the Gamecube section. Can you get any more biased.

Freeman's right.

Doom 3 > RE4 > Halo 2.

Halo 2's graphics aren't too spectacular, especially considering it's on the most graphically potent console available. Putting aside Doom 3 because it wasn't a choice, Resident Evil 4 wins!

Well, I really do think graphics matter, although not as much as gameplay.

Resident Evil 4 is gorgeous in it's own respects, and halo 2 is gorgeous in it's on respects. Leave it at that.

Agreed, the USA has no right to do what they do, they make up lied to make themslves look better. 9/11 was prove of poor security and anything else Let our felllow men come hold so they dont have thr risk of dying everyday.

I played Resident Evil and seen someone else play Halo 2, and Re4 definately comes out on top. Its safe to say that Re4 has won this poll.

I haven't played Resident Evil 4 yet, but I think that the graphics are way better than Halo 2.

I think that RE4 has better graphics.

1- halo 2 had good graphics in background, but lacked what we loved from one: Bloody gore.
In one when you kill you enemy, you could beat the crap out of their corpses and after you are done, there is a bloody mess all over the walls.
Plus when you do the same tho the flood they blow up.

2- RE4 has really splended graphics, the villagers(AKA cult members/ posesed civilians) die kinda like the zombies in past RE games. What I mean is that you could kill almost every thing in one hit like a shot to the head killds them instantly, or a shit to the leg takes them down to the ground like in real life unlike Halo2.

That is really the big reason that RE4 Beats Halo2 In graphics. Its the Gore.

No one said anything about not putting gameplay first or graphics were the only thing that mattered, even he agreed RE4 was a better game (I play 2D Sonic games, do you really think I'm worried about the graphics?). We were just saying which one had better graphics, that's all. No need for the little attitude.

This poll isn't biased at all, I posted it here at NNow, GameXC Forums, and the Sega Forums as well. You can move it to General gaming if you want, I was just inside the Nintendo Forum when I thought about it and just posted it.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Play better and runs smoother on the PS2 as opposed to Xbox!

Halo 2 looks better on Xbox than it does on the PC.

RE 4 will most likely play, look and run smoother on GC than it will on PS2!

It's more based on the performance of the console than which console it came out first one.
The PS2 version of RE4 will probably take longer to load because of the use of mini disc's compared to DVD. Also the GCN speed is better than the PS2 (and there is the GCN cache memory).
The Gamecube has better graphical capabilities than the PS2 as the GCN's grahics are spread throughout the system while that is not the case.
It also comes down to Capcom and how much they want to change it. Hopefully they don't add extra content.
