Microsoft has released eight new patches, five of which are rated 'critical' and could allow attackers to take complete control of compromised systems.

Nothing too bad, but a bunch of critical updates, (6 MB in all). So everyone, time to head to Windows Update and grab the files. They prevent security holes which someone could potenitally use to remote into ones PC.

There are times when I wonder if the 'patches' give hackers new ideas more than prevent them.

1 hacker makes a breakthrough

Patch gets released

Now 100,000 hackers know of the issue and will do minor variations to exploit again.

There would be no need for all these patches if Windows could release a more complete OS. But no... they have to half ass it and go and fix it every 2 days.

Microsoft personel is human what do you expect? Unix, Linux, etc have holes and patches all the time there is just less people using it so there is less talk about that.
