I'm working on a comic again, thanx to Sandman, I've been busy to restart UMB. Now if the little bugger would be online every once in awhile that would be nice eh Sandy :P

For those of you who know me or my previous comics (or efforts :P) here's the prologue I created some time ago. And, well, yeah if you don't know me then you can check it out too :P

I cried when I saw Mario and Luigi though, I guess they are cool enough, but aw, they don't have their famous mustaches... *cries*
I guess I could get used to it though, but I doubt I'm the only one that will feel that way, lol.
On the other hand Peach is teh babe! :D

I know that the "new" look for mario and luigi takes some getting used to. Believe me, I tried the mustache, but it simply made them look, well, retarded. :P
I wanted it to be clear that they are not 30+ fat plumbers like you used to know. This time the stakes are higher and I wanted the brothers to be edgier, a bit like adult link.

So look at it this way, baby mario doesn't have a mustache, and since mario and luigi in this comic are about 20/21 y/o they also don't have mustaches :) They do have facial hair though :P

I do respect the source material because y'know it simply wouldn't be cool to make peach teh babe if she wasn't such a well... kidnap case in the games. :)

Currently I'm working on getting a cool new look for the Hammer Bros. They're going to be bosses in the comic. At least that's what I think I'll do with them :P

Story is finished, but if there's room for improvement or better/other storylines or characters then I'll put them in.

I figured it out. I had my browser set to load it full size with maximum resolution. I didn't think that would matter much but it did.

It's cool, but all of the characters look almost nothing like what they are supposed to be. I wouldn't be able to recognize a single one if I weren't told who they were. Otherwise, I likes.

Hehe, well though they don't look exactly like their counterparts, I do design them with their original characters in mind. Mario and Luigi have gone through the most drastic change and most people don't recognize them.
Shy guys keep their mask (sort of) and their red robes, Peach is still wearing a pink like outfit that looks like her dress (you'll see when she's introduced in the comic) but sexier. Toad is just like Toad although he's bigger and badder now :)

One of the goals I set for myself was creating Mario's world in a new and more "realistic" way while not ignoring what came before.

That said (err.. typed :P) expect to see a lot of references to the original mario universe.

How about Bowser/Koopa?

In the promo, the big mean shadow character :)
Also take a good look at Yoshi, you might find something there too :)

Well, everything is subjective :)

I design the characters with their original looks in mind. In Mario's case he has brown hair and even the two "sideburn hairs" and a somewhat rounder face than Luigi. Also his hair comes down like it does on his counterpart.

I can't say I really see the "Ryu" in him. Well except the "fireball" maybe, but well, Mario had a fireball wayy before Ryu did :P
