Hi, I hope i am posting this in the right place! I am just sick and tired of stupid Ads and Pop-ups that come every frikken second on my monitor. If anyone knows of a decent, and free ad/pop-up blocker, please, help me with the link to the program. I use Norton Internet Security, but it's useless when it comes to pop-ups.

Thanks

If you use IE, try Kill PopUp (http://www.computerescue.com/kp12/)

If you use Firefox, like you should, hehe, just browse the extensions list and take one you like.

Thanks for jumping to help, guys. But i tried that Pop Up Killer, and it sort of killed my pc. It caused couple of things to happen. first, it doesn't allow me to open in a new window, anymore. And worst of all, i keep getting the internet explorer error box, and it closes all my current windows. Could it be conflicting with Norton IS?
I am on a new laptop,Morton, so i would hate to experiment with the firefox thing on it:)

Ha ha, dude, Internet Explorer will cause you 9999 times more problems with your PC than Firefox.

get your geezer @$$ on MSN sometimes. By the way, if you're anywhere in california, maybe you should meet my cousin who studies at the CSU in Fresno:D.

That must be aconflict of soem form because it's a pretty good popup killer for IE. I've been using it for 2 years now.

However, Bake Boy is right, Firefox is by far a better way to go. Not just in getting rid of pop ups but general browsing is, odd to think, better.

By the way, it will not damage your machine at all. If you are that nervous though, create a restore point first. If anything does go wrong, just go back to that restore point.

I usually don't have any problems with constant pop-ups, but I guess it's because I'm not going to those nasty sites you boys visit *ahem*, but I just thought I should throw in that some pop-ups could be a result from adware that have collected itself up on your computer, "Norton IS" only protects against Viruses (and also Worms and Trojan Horses I think), but for adware you need a different program.

I personally use Spy Sweeper, it helps kill excesive pop-ups as well if you run the program in the background. Click here (http://www.webroot.com/) for the program.

I use the free trial version, it's without restrictions, but you can't update the program without a subscribtion to their mag, but I'm sure you'll do fine without that for some time. :)

Pop-Up Stopper Pro is a very good one.

Outside of that Firefox's and IE's popup blocker work well.

What's that I hear, Shayde....Are you- you naughty naughty girl- suggesting that I-the married man- go to porn sites. shame on you:P, I'm old enough to be your father, hehe

You're right though-Viper- I downloaded FF and it's much better in terms of pop up blockage, but it slows the internet browsing considerably, and i am on a Comcast 4 mg cable :O.

I think i came across that Pop-Up Stopper Pro, Heretic, but it wasnt free.

thanks ya'll for jumping in to help:)

FF is slow for the first few days, cause it's brand new. Soon it'll learn your system and have a fuller cashe and it'll become faster than IE.
