An interesting article that I found. Bascially comparing how Google is starting to come into play and rival Yahoo (currently the webs largest and number 1 web portal).

The last several months have been marked by the addition of several new features as the search-engine leader attempts to realize its widening ambitions. The latest, introduced Thursday, is a feature that lets people set up personalized home pages--a direct answer to Yahoo's My Yahoo portal. But in doing so, Google's online face to the world increasingly resembles those of its Web portal rivals.

Is Google loosing its defining edge? Or are they still distinct?

I personally say Google still has an edge, and thats being simple. Very simple, and clean. Not flashy and gets the job done.

Google is simple and fast. Yahoo! takes to long to load since they cram all that content on the main page. I just use the Google Search bar in FireFox anyways. =P

I use Google for searching just about everything. It's very very good.

I google like 3 times a day, if not more. It's a great spell checker.

You're not my friend. Google > Yahoo.

The only reason Yahoo! gets more users is because of all the crap that it has with it. I guarantee the Google search engine is used more.

I google everyday. Since mozilla has the google search bar integrated within the browser, there's no reason to use any other search engine.

You can add more engines to that, you know. I just opened up my little search menu and was surprised when I found 5 others. I forgot I added them.

I added Wikipedia to it. Wikipedia rules. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthbound, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigeru_Miyamoto, they have everything.)

And I didn't know that Google is a verb...

I only use Google and Dictionary.com.

I'm sure eBay and Amazon could be useful for some people though.

Google just takes the biscuit from everything else.
