Being 1337 is no longer strictly for us gaming nerds and intarweb buffs. I was talking to a female friend of mine the other day and she said to me, she said,

This local pop music station had a running contest to find the average female listeners' favorite words. Number one happened to be "w00t." Caught up in the anxiety and total erotica of a woman using 1337 (talk D | ]2 7 Y to me), I stopped a few moments later to notice my surroundings.

In the past few weeks/months, I have slowly seen my off-intarweb friends use my language. The most common of which being "nub," "pwn," and "w00t." Fascinatingly, the not-deep-intarweb-crevice'd individuals also use the common phrases, "Eat Shit and Die," and sometimes even go as far as yelling at me "FYAD FYAD!"

Yes, I have seen this disturbing trend. At first I thought it was just techies, nerds, etc, but then I started to hear it more and more outside those enviroments. I have even starte to hear it at work!
