No More "My" Computer

Thats right. Longhorn will be removing the "MY" from the OS. No more My Computer, My Docuements, My Network Places, My etc...

Microsoft is mulling dropping the "My" prefix on folders and icons that have long been a staple of the Windows desktop. The change means that instead of My Computer and My Documents icons, users will be greeted with labels that state simply Computer and Documents.

Can't really say I will miss it, but it was heavily used throughout the computer industry.

One more way to desensitise the American people. Microsoft is deciding that the computers will no longer be our's as the consumers but theirs as the organisations :O They will probably stop selling computers and just start renting them out.... that way they can stay in control o.O

I always found the My part to be severe Apple-ish. If it wasn't Microsoft it would be some other company that everybody would be bitching at.

OS is just an ancromyn for Operating System (such as Windows, Linux, etc...)

"Longhorn" is the codename for Microsoft's next Windows release. When they were developing Windows XP - before it got its official name Windows XP it was codenamed "Whistler"

yeah longhorn looks cool, just saw it last week when I when to talk to my freind's dad there at mircosoft. Saw what he is working on the games folder atm where they will be displayed much differerntly and auto updating for any game you install. they are kinda going with the mac look tho with the windows opening and closing.. I'll type more later.. But I like it but I doubt I would buy it lol. Oh also anyone need an xbox game cheap looks like he can buy then for $10.00 at the company store, aswell xp pro for $35.00 etc...
