new franchises for ps3?

do you believe sony will create all new franchises for the ps3? i say this because killzone seems to be the start of something big sony may be cooking up.

Of course they will, otherwise the PS3 will just be host to an endless barrage of sequels.

It would be commercial suicide for Sony not to. It's one of the core reasons why they are at the top and staying there.

Maybe this is just my opinion ,but killzone might be better as a launch title for ps3 instead of becoming some sleeper hit for ps2 like warhammer ended up being. Killzone has a good potential of not becoming the next halo, but maybe the next counter-strike. I think very highly of killzone's release and its all about timing.

though this wouldn't be really a new franchise i think capcom should make a dc vs marvel 2d fighter. i could just imagine my team batman, superman, spiderman, and wolverine.

And I wonder what major games will be staying with PS3, or comming to them. For example, Capcom is making the last RE game for gamecube and heading towards sony.

ohh no you didn't!! haha, just kidding. Killzone is this insane game being made for the PS2 that is supposed to be the best FPS ever made.

I remember when I first heard about Killzone, I hadn’t heard much about it either until I looked it up on the Internet. They said there was a lot of hype surrounding it but I hadn’t really paid attention to it, but I had heard and saw news about it on IGN.

There will be alot of new faces over the ps3's reign and you will still see some old faces. Theres not much to be added to this simple question.

There will always be new and original franchises,if not the games industry would just die a lonely death.Original content and creativty using these game developers minds are what games are all about.

If the PSP is anything to go buy(about 60 new franchises announced for it) then the PS3 should have an incredible amount of new titles but plenty of classic titles too.

Dont forget when the PS1 started it didnt have any classic games but created many out of classic games, each of these games had a big enough fanbase so when sequels launched people flocked to the shops, these sales overshadowed the newer franchises.

PS2 has plenty of new games, several times more than sequels but the fact is the big fanbase and sales games like RE get always overshadows smaller fanbases which get less sales.

Black and Killzone are two games which look to take a bite out of the FPS world and theyr both new, if they can pull of the hype surrounding these games then theres no doubt theres much more to come.

The PSP list is definately promising as far as the PS3 is concerned. I guess that as the PS2 is coming to the later part of its life, sequels are becoming more common. So we'll be seeing some new franchises.

LOL, when you do get into them you REALLY get into them, it the same with GTA really, if you play the games enough to understand the prospect you cant leave them alone.

Spent FAR too much time on GTA3 when it came out. The day I got it, invited some friends around, and then I think we played it for about 3 days straight.
