I have the launch version and a lot of those movies worked fine on my PS2 :?

I've watched a lot of those movies on my old(50000) and new(50001) models of PS2. Likle Akira Spe. Ed. I just watched it last night. Don't know where this list came from but I find it highly suspect.

It's from IGN, my model is from shortly after launch, got it in May 2001. Out of those I have AI, The Fellowship of the Ring and Star Wars Episode II, get Disc ead Error with all of the buggers!

As he said he has the launch Ps2 so it only improved after that... Actually.... no. Some other error occured while fixing others in the newer version. I believe version 1.5 has the most fixes (or maybe 2.0), while 3.0 (newest, I think) and 1.0 has the most errors. By the way, I'm talking about the DVD Driver version. Not the PS2 model.

I believe the IGN list is quite flawed, I know another site which has a list of incompatible DVDs and it has quite less then that, and also, the other site tells you which VERSION it's incompatible with. I'll try to dig up the other site if I have time.

LOL, ive played about 80 percent of those movies with no problems, who are IGN trying to kid :shock:

I've never had a disk-read error with my PS2. Never had the green screen with DVD problem either.

The green screen is just when using an RGB connector.

Yea I know, but I just remember when the PS2 was first released, everybody was always going on about these problems. Never had any problems.

Perhaps I've just been lucky with the model I got.
