Will the PSP have an internal mobile? or will we need to get huge ass adapters?

i want to know, because thats one of the reasons why im getting this.

if it does have mobile capabillities, do u think u could surf the net? normally like on PC's? or at all?

also a none related comment...
Nintendo DS has a better design. can u imagine how much bigger the PSP screen would be if it was like a laptop with screen at top fitting the whole area and buttons at the bottom plate? WOW that would rock... pitty sony didnt do this :( theres more than that one advantage too, such as protecting the screen :( oh well.

The "mobile" will be WiFi. You connect to other PSP's nearby, or you can connect to a WiFi hotspot. There have been rumors of a cell phone adapter.

As for internet browsing, I don't think that anything has been confirmed, but it is a possibility.

I'd love a clamshell PSP, GBA SP is so much better than the original GBA.

The GBA first came not laptop-like ... then they did the GBA SP ... Maybe is Sony going to do the same thing ... After a couple of years the PSPBetter will come out ( PSP like a clamshell )

I hope not. I like the PSP design the way it is. A clamshell design works for the GBA SP and the DS, but the PSP looks good the way it is.

I said it before, and i'll say it again. I would have loved to see sony do the lens prodtection thing you see in digital cameras, with the psp. You know, all's protected, you turn it on, and the protected opens and the screen's revealed. It would have rocked, hard. Too bad sony didn't do this.

The PSP screen is huge and the clarity is great!
The psp isnt designed to be droped by foolish children who don't care about the screen. I kepy my GBA screen clear of oil and scratches for months, before i let my cousin get a hold of it. Them going what's that, and putting ther finger on the screen

What makes me mad is all the people coming on the forum saying, will the PSP have this? and then saying that if it doesn't they are gonna get DS.

The DS design is Ok but my thoughts are sumed up in the word clamshell. The PSP looks sleek. The DS looks like a lil make up kit. You show people the back! of the PSP they say 'wow cool!'
You show people the DS closed and they say '.... it's a box'

You say the DS has a better design but does it have the funtionality of PSP? Screen adjustment button, Audio adjust button. Volume buttons. Home button (rings internet browsing). Does DS have analouge.
You say DS has better design but does it have memory stick use built into the design? How do you save with DS? You say DS has a better design but did they design it so that you can play games of size 1.8GB?
You say DS has a better design but does it have the power of PSP?

All of these things are part of the design. I'd rather have somethin that looks good, is small, and loaded with power and features, than have something that looks like a cloister even if it does protect the screen - you just got to be mature about having PSP. (could the stylus potentialy damage the screen) I know my organiser was pretty messed after a while.

Anyways, im not here to bash DS. I didnt even mind DS till i started reading these post about people only getting PSP for specific features that the DS doesnt even have in the first place.
Chances are that the home button will be used for web browsing. And there will be a PSP only website kinda like central station. Has there been any offcial mention of a cell phone add on? GPRS isn't a cell phone. It's a wireless 56K modem.

According to this article (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=dev&aid=2167), the mobile feature has been confirmed. However, thats all it is, confirmed. There has been no mention of when this accessory will be released or what it would look like.
I'm in the same shoes, L3XO, and personally I'm going to get a really cheap phone until I hear more news about this accessory. Hope this helped.

i never said that i didnt like the psp, nor like the DS. ive never been a fan of nintendo, and i have always been a fan of sony. its just that the psp "could" have been alittle better if they took more time in my opinion. i got a portable tv where i can plug ps2 in, and belive me, small screen + 3d game is not a good combination. i admit that sony did a wonderful job with the psp's design. very sleek, but im sure if they had the chance to make it a clamshell it would also look good if they designed it, and dont forget the hidden extras, bigger screen, protection, and who know what else might have happened.

btw, when i said design, i meant the clamshell design, not funtions or capabilities.

by the way, i do have a mobile phone, and it does have the internet, but belive me, if uve never had internet on a phone, chances are you dont want internet on a phone. its shit. exagerations cant even say how crap internet is on a mobile phone. no images, no large complex pages, no nothing. u cant even check ur hot mail on it. its total "CRAP", thats why i want internet on the psp, that way theres a chance that the internet will be like on a PC, with images, page design and all because of the big screen.

anyway, im not saying anyone's opinion is wrong, this is just mine. plus, theres always a chance that sony will improve the psp2 by a whole lot more.

If you want to be pedantic, Nokia have a phone where you can surf the net in all its glory. It has a fully-functional HTML browser.

Sounds like you need a new phone then...what is yours and what service to you have? I have Sprint service and a Sanyo 8100 and Samsung V1660 and they can both check hotmail email. The Sanyo can go to non-wap sites. My suggestion- get a new freakin phone.

Sony didnt make a clamshell desgin. IMO, if they did, it would be too much like the DS and nothing about it would be unique. Just accept that it isnt one and move on.

The best would have been the slide-away screen protector, like the kind you see in digital cameras to protect the lens. That would have been perfect, just perfect.

Ok, I see, not a nintendo person im sorry for sayin that bit.

I have a siemens A50. IT's the worst phone ever. When you go on wap it crashes the phone after a little while. The A50 still shows images albeit low grade and splits large pages up. It allows me to check and send hotmail and allows me to access msn messenger.

the thing with the "clamsell" design is that its like twice as thick. i like the PSP design and there is nothing wrong with it at all. the Physical and internal design is good..and for web browsing that would be cool...but i mean play the PSP not the internet..is it really that important to you? i mean if it is get a laptop when your out and you can do your very important things on that.

When did the internet even become a factor. IT's all about the games :D

Devil may cry
Gran turismo
need for speed
Tony Hawk

The list of great, unbeatable, games goes on.

hey guys, i found a phone which is clamshelled and is very sleek and very thin. its not out yet i dont think and its called "Motorola Razr V3"

i posting this for no reason... but anyways i thought u might wanna see if u havnt already.

its more portrate than land scape, but im sure if the next psp comeout like a clamshell it will look as good or better than that.

btw, the mobile i got is C550, so it only displays text in web browsers, occasionally it may show images, but usually not. either way, id rather have a bit of both in one.

EDIT: btw, in the pictures it looks very large, but its not. its smaller than a PDA when closed.

As long as I get my PSP im happy :D
I dont care about a "clamshell" model. :x And if you are that afraid of scratches, just put a cover over the screen DUH! I have some for my PDA and it works well even with tapping on the screen. I just hope that Sony realeses a cover without that sticky residue........its nasty when you take it off and you will really regret putting it on

Go check out the link i put there earlier, its on nokia.com.

As for screen protection, i don't think i'll be scratching it at all while its in use, and on the move i'll just keep it in a carry bag.
