I'm not putting this in the memory thread since its gotten really stupid and people just spam and flame. So mods please don't delete this.

Anyways, I was wondering if it was Duo or Duo Pro the PSP uses. The picture shows a Duo but Kaz said at E3, Duo Pro. So I was wondering if one is incorect or if the PSP can use both. Thanks.

I also just noticed that it actually says "Memory Stick Duo" on the place were you put it into the PSP.

The PSP uses both. The Pro means that it is just a higher capacity. I beleive Memory Stick Duo's go up to 128MB and the Pros go on up after that.

So, you can use either one, but Pros have more storage space(more money of course)

By the way, SOny upgraded all the Memory Stick Media to "High-Speed" which now reaches 80MB/s. Dont knwo if this is new or not but it is to me.

It seems as if you only wrote half of that sentence. Sony said the 1GB sticks only.....

Oh, wait, are you saying that the PSP will be only compatible with that size card? Unlikely.....

yea i know thats what i thought..i dunno maybe what i read was just a rumor or a thought

You could be right, but that would be a seriously stupid mistake. I know i'm not gonna fork out for a 1GB stick right away.

There is no doubt in my mind that all duo pro cards will be compatible, regardless of size. The reader in the PSP will be the same as every other duo pro reader before it, and thus will be compatible with every card they make to the same specification

maybe Sonys will be reasonably priced...i mean what was the memory card for PS2 when it first came out...like 40 bucks right?

lol, $75 in Australia. I don't think they'd be selling them THAT cheaply, i mean they can still be making heaps of money off them selling them expensively to people with PDA's etc.

Anyway, its gonna b compatible with all duo pro cards.

They say Duo Pro. The PSP says Duo. I think they mad a mistake when they said Duo Pro because you can't buy 32 mb Duo Pros. The 32mb Duo is $55 AUD. When you think about it, the PS2 memory card is only 8mb for $60 AUD. So I think if you're only gonna use the memory stick duo for game saves, it's pretty cheap. hopefully the PSP will come with one but probably not.

I've also read about the 1GB memory stick, but I remember that there said that it was the bigger one that the PSP will accept.

You'd think so wouldn't you? I doubt SONY will make the PSP compatible only with the 1GB memory stick.

What about MagicGate? It is a form of security for Memory Sticks...by the way, the PSP will be able to support UP TO 1gig, not only one gig. The 1gig card is probly gonna be 500$...cause the 512mb is 250

they're not made by sandisk, they're made by sony. Sandisk just has the cheaper spin-offs that are pretty much exactly the same.

Acually the size is not the diffrence between Duo and Pro. it is just that Pro is bigger in Lenght. Duo is like Half the lenght of Pro. if you go to www.memorystick.com , they have pictures of them.
