For the PS2 to be online, you mostly needed a headset to be able to stay in servers without getting kicked out....so i think that maybe they come with the PS3 (if it has a built in online adaptor). And if they do, then i hope that they will be wireless.

I'm not saying there is, but this may be what Sony desides to do for their next console. Who knows? It'll be best to wait it out and see.

I dont see that happening. Most people who have their PS2 online already have a head set. Plus, its extra money for them to pocket. However, I do see them designing a vaireity of new renditions of peripherals. Each of which will be wireless, keeping on tune with the PSP in how it will communicate with PS3. To tell you the truth...I can also see that towards the later half or more towards the end of the PS3's life cycle SONY will have introduced a brand new peripheral headset similar to the one introduced for the ps2 mimmicking a 52" tv. The only difference with this one will be that it will include a built in mic and earphone(s). I dont see it being wireless but I do see us using it actually looking around in real time in the game (particularly in an FPS) This will work excellent with in enhanced version of a next gen eye toy. Check this out... :) ...if you have this new head set and the next gen eye toy you cannot play an FPS sitting down. Now you are forced to stand, crouch, lay in prone position, peek around corners. It will be absolutely FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC. Excuse my english. Obviously I cant wait til that happens now can I?

Wireless would be great. I don't use a headset anymore since I need to get a new one but I know it was a hassle at times when playing.

Are you mad? I don't want to do what my character does in-game. I don't have the energy for that. I just want to sit on my ass, and use the controller to kick ass, fuck lying down and acting stealthy.

They could also make something, which makes you feel the pain when your character is shot... or maybe not?

Here's a logical theory: I see them, if not them then 3rd party company, relasing a wired and a wireless headset, Just like what they are doing now. But of course, wireless is currently behind wired headsets in terms of overall quality.

Sarcasm???

Well, if you think that you will never see games that incorporate these various elements into future gameplay then you're dead wrong. Keep rolling your eyes. The fact is that innovation will slowly creep in on the industry just as we see an over-saturation of content in the same genre. There will always be companies willing to take chances, and with eye toy type peripherals these are very likely scenarios.

Also, I beleive that there has to be further enhancements in battery life technology before we start seeing everything go wireless.

I'm on my 8th LogiTech headset (46$ x 8 )...I would love to have the wireless option but at the same time they would have to be much more durable and not break when dropped by accident.I'm willing to pay a good deal if it means I don't have to buy a new one every 3 months.

Something to be considered anyway. The fact is that the ratio of people buying one headset and sticking with it as opposed to buying many renditions of it are just insane. There would have to be something really special about it for everyone to make a switch. Why spend $50 when the one you already have works perfectly fine. That's how most people think.
