I just realized while complaining about Sony's non-consistent type of memory cards (PS1, PS2, MemoryStick, MemStick Duo) that storage ability is going to probably be my make-it-or-break-it decision on the next-gen systems.

So I'll say it now: whoever supports USB flash drives on the next gen console gets my money.

I'm tired of compactflash, smartmedia, mmc, memorystick, sd, and all the other million flavors of flash storage out there. I want to buy one stick and have it work everywhere...almost universally like a UniversialSerialBus flash drive.

These things are falling in price like crazy and you can customize them, use them on PCs and Macs and pretty much everything else. Why not make it an easy savepoint for video games too?

Yeah I didn't mean to trump your poll but since I didn't see the USB drive up there as a poll option I decided it was almost a completely different question. I'd rather have all the formats you mentioned spontaneously combust so we don't have to fight 20 different competing storage formats.

Sorry.
It's just that it's only my second topic on the forums, so im kinda nerveurs  (how do you spell that?)that it will be forgotten, or overrun by other polls.EDIT: Just found out that i can't change the poll any more :( :( :(   , just keep on going :)

Its just a poll. Its not the end of the world. In fact, there's only 2000 registered ppl on this forum. Topics/posts/polls all come and go depending on which way the wind blows.

I was at Best Buy the other day and I spotted this for the PS2 console:

The strangest thing about all of this, though, is I remember mentioning it awhile back before this Max Drive ever came about. But, what brought me to the idea was the Sony Micro Vault. It seems someone was listening. :P Maybe Sony will pick up on the idea for the PS3, too.

Anyway, after reading the instructions, I found that you could either transfer saved games off your memory cards to this storage stick or save them directly to the stick itself, which holds 16 MBs. The bigger your PC HDD is, the more saves you can add to it.

That's definitely something nice to see ;) I didn't even know they had those for the PS2. Flash drives are really cool [the higer storage ones are a tad bit pricey, though].

Oh but they do.
Just bought one a month ago, seems to work fine :D , if you want action replay with it, just buy Action Replay MAX EVO, then the flash drive will be included :D :D + when you have MAX EVO, you'll be able to use any flash drive on your PS2.
