GT5 is a posibility if Polyphony Digital will hurry with their games and stop deleying them.*Cough*GT4*Cough*
In GTs made for the ps2 you can clearly see that the cars are way more detailed than the environments. Do you think that Polyphony Digital will use the power of the ps3 to develope the graphics the similar way for GT5?

I think they have to bring the same amount of detail to both aspects, so that Grand Turismo can remain the best-selling racing console series.

I'm not sure how much more detailed the cars can get.:) But the environments and fans on the sidelines have a long ways to go. Sounds like the cell will be able to perform enough geometry calulations to handle all this plus the new car damage!

The cars are exellent for the current generation, but imagine what horizons the cell could open, not only can more detail be added to all aspecs of the game graphically, but, I think that they should have a better sense of speed, more like NFSU2, which really does the racing genere justice.

Really? I was thinking that we will keep seeing the cars more detailed than the environments with GT5. After all highly detailed cars is one of the things that mede GT so good on the ps2. Of course the environments will be way better than they are today, but still I'm expecting to see a difference between the detallions in GT5

I think best graphics in GT series has been almost achieved in GT4. Gt4 is almost 92% near to real driving simulator. So what is remaining 8%? A little bit environment improvement, a little car detail, driver animation, in car camera option, damage animation, and create a car option. let's hope that GT5 will provide all these options. That’s it.

GT4 has shown so good photo-realistic graphics therefore I really don’t know how you think that it’s not good.
Oh C'mon amod! You can't see GT4 photo-realistic!? :x
There is so much to improve from GT4 to GT5. When they will show you (us) some demonstrations from GT5 you will see it. IF any game will show us something "photo-realistic" in game it will be GT5's car models, but even that is not certain yet  .

I suggest you to visit GT4 website. Developers have organized a little contest in which you have to gauss in game GT4 graphics screenshots. They will show you two different photo of same track. One is an in game shot while other one is an original photo of same track. It was really hard to make difference between those two images because GT4’s in game graphics are that dam good.
Do you have a link to that site, amod?
I have already seen many in game pictures from GT4, but I just can't see it "photo-realistic". Don't get me wrong, the models look very, very good...who would have thought that we would see such graphics with the ps2 8) . One can only imagine what we will see in GT5 for the ps3...

Here is a link of that website of GT4. The images, which have been compared with real photo images, are from in game graphics. Those are not photo-mode images. Photo-mode images have been shown in different section.

gt5 is going to look so real its scary :P but amazing, i think gt5 or gt6 on the ps3 will produce real life like graphics

gt5 is going to look so real its scary :P but amazing, i think gt5 or gt6 on the ps3 will produce real life like graphicsI think theres a strong possibility that the graphics will be photo realistic. GT1 and 2 were like the most realistic racing games of there time and that was back on the PS1. When you see what Polyphony can get out of the PS2 with GT 3 and 4 (considered weakest console this generation) just imagine what they can pull out of the PS3 with much more memory, faster and way more powerful CPU, and not to mention supposedly easier to develop for. Just think.

I agree with julps31 here. GT5 might likely reach to that so called "photo-realism", but don't expect it to look like real life  ...
To amod: I visited the site and the game looks impressive, but not yet photo-realistic to me...and the quality of the real pictures is CRAP  . Anyway, thanks for the link.

I hope that GT5 will reach 1000 car magic figure. I also expect driver animation, damage animation, in car camera, create a car option.

driver animation? What, you want him to get out of the car and do a jig after he's won a race?

No.no. not that. I mean ‘in car driver animation’.

No.no. not that. I mean ‘in car driver animation’.Actually GT5 will have driver animation. At least in convertables. Pretty realsitic I must say myself. Unless you mean an in car veiw like in the old Need for Speed games. That would be nice and I expect them to do it.

Yes absolutely right. And I am also looking forward for in car camera where you can see from eyes of driver. I will call it the most realistic experience.
Ain't this already going to be supported in GT4? If not, it's a bit odd, don't you think? It takes a lot more work to add a "in car camera" for so many models though  .

You got the point. It is true that they will need more time to develop GT5 if they decide to include this camera.

I sure hope so, because I like to play driving games that way. With the cababilities of the ps3 Polyphony Digital could probably change the visual idea of "in car camera", assuming that it requires a lot more power to produce realistic interiors than exteriors of the car models...(which might be one of the reasons for not including it in current gen?)

And I also think that they must increase the total number of cars on same screen. GT4 supports 6 cars; therefore I really expect that GT5 must support 8 least to 12 max cars on same screen.
That would be cool too, but the more cars they are going to use on screen at the same time will decrease the detallions of the models :? ? If GT4 had 12 cars on screen at the same time, I assume that the models wouldn't look so good that they look now...

Very true but why are you forgetting that GT5 is going to make its debut on ps3. And I really don’t think that ps3 will have any kind of problem to handle that much detail of 8 to 12 cars on same screen.

there was rumours that a ps3 gt would have more cars on track, maybe 8 or 10 and it was confirmed there would be damage, yay :D

Actually yes, I really can’t see why ps3 won’t support such features. Ps3 will be a pure powerhouse.

Of course the ps3 will be able to handle 8-12 cars on screen at the same time( or as many you like :) ). It's just that the less cars on screen might lead to better graphix.

No what I am saying is ps3 might able to handle realistic car models[GT5 standard] up to 8 least and 12 max on same screen without reducing any graphics effect. Read my words, I am saying 8 cars least.

I get your point and agree with you on this, but do you get my point? There shouldn't be any broblems for ps3 to produce 8-12 very realistic cars on screen at the same time, but if they put 6 cars on screen instead of 8-12 and use the same amount of power, the visuals should be even better, in theory anyways...

Yes, I accept your point. I am completely agreed with you.
Well, I personally hope that they have more than 6 cars on the track. 6 cars can be hugely dull at times...
