The Playstation 2 was and still is a big seller, and many of us are excited to see what Sony will come up with next. Well, they have just revealed to us their details about "Playstation Network", PSNet for short. You probably all know how popular online gaming is, and Sony knows thats what gamers want. The PSNet, to counter one of X-Box's main functions, X-Box Live, will make online gaming more advanced then ever. On the Playstation 2, you had to buy the internet adapter and attach it to the back of the system. Not anymore, as Sony will have that feature built in. It will also have a wireless connection built in (108.11b) for those with wireless routers in their house. You will not be allowed to use the PSNet if you have Dial-up, for lag issues, though. The PSNet will have three packages, 5$ Monthly, a 50$ Yearly, or a new one, "Pay-By-Game". In the Pay-By-Game you will have to pay an amount to play a certain game on the Network. The amount will be different for each game, depending on what features or capabilities it will have. Of course, once you pay to have a game on the Network, you will not have to pay for that game again. We still do not know if there will be any Limited Free Network time or downloads, like on X-Box Live. Anyway, if you turn on your Playstation 3 without any disks (Yes, thats right, disks) in it, it will go to the System Menu, where you can set the time and date, see and edit whats saved on your Hard Drive, and you will also be able to make a Playstation Network account. Once you select that, you will have to type in your account code that comes with the package. After that you will have to type in your Credit Card and Personal Information. After all that, you just have to type in in your account name and password, and your all set. If someone already has that name, you will, of course, have to choose another. Once you log onto your username, you can edit your BuddyList, Go Online, or Look for Downloads. If someone is on your buddylist, you will be able to see what game their playing and what room their in. You will be able to send them messages, Typed or Recorded. If your are playing a game, and you check your friends list, you can see if they have the Network for that game, and if they do, you can see if their online, and what their rankings and clan tags are. Also, if your hosting a game you will be able to invite them to the room. When you choose to Go Online, you will be able to surf the web. If you go to the Downloads section, there will be many options. Some would be Download Extras, where you can download extra features to your games (Note that additional fees may be required unless you are using the Pay-By-Game), Download Music/Videos, where you will be able to download Music that you can play during your games or to burn to a CD (Note that not all music will be possible for download, only the artists that agree to the deal), and there will be Download Off The Internet, where you can download things like AIM, or games (Note that some additional fees may be required, and these take up spaces on your hard drive.). We are still not sure if you will be able to download MSN Messenger.
Of course, I wrote that myself and is not true at all. its just to show what i hope the PS3 will be like.
...sigh...
If only that was true, though.[/i]

I can't even read continuous writing like that. Try using paragraphs.
Considering I haven't read anything else but the word 'Network' in the title, I'm assuming this post really belongs here:

I prefer the way things are being handled now. If it were to change in the way you are visioning it as, it would be another Xbox Live all over. That's a good thing and a bad thing but mainly bad, IMO, when you are talking about an entire fanbase. I find paying-to-play any one game online completely ridiculous, especially when it can only be activated through a credit card. What if you don't have one and can't get one? :?
Yes, clan mode, personal chat, hands free chat, etc. are good features, but what if you don't chat much? This is basically what you would be paying for. Why not include these things for free and just charge for extra content or something; that way, you aren't screwing the less fortunate and or average gamers over? This is why Live has trouble keeping up with PSOline. If it's free, people will come running. I find it absiolutely pointless to include the ethernet in a cosole when you are going to be charged and continued to be charged each time the server is fired up.
The next server we get, I hope it's related to Yahoo Chat and not Live. That way, everyone is getting a piece of the pie. Of course bandwidth would be an issue, but I believe this is what the Cell was designed for.
Moving and Closing, post here:
