Hey.
Over the years, I've somehow managed to get a hold of a ton of Sega CD games, and I've decided to buy the actual console. Recently, I was able to buy a Sega CD (Model 2) for a great price on eBay, but the machine does not come with an RF Unit or AC Adaptor. I was wondering, do I need the official Sega accessories or could I buy no-name versions from, for example, Radioshack?

I've always been able to buy no-name brand RF Cable Units for every console I've owned. I'm not sure about the AC Adaptor, though. Sometimes someone feels like making another person's life difficult by having their products work with brand-name only accessories ;)

I've been using some nameless AC adaptor for my Mega Drive. And as for RF leads, I've never seen any unofficial ones, though I'm sure they're around.

i dug up my Sega (model 1 type), and the RF adapater is gone. we also have an SNES someone gave us and the RF unit fits the sega perfectly. on ebay people also sell universal ones for sega/snes/etc. yet i'm not getting a picture. the picture gets kinda fuzzy when i turn the sega on, but no game image. i dunno if the rf unit is broke or what's going on.
the snes itself simply gets no power. nothing works when you turn it on. i can't open it cause of the weird screw thingies.
