View Full Version : PSP Speakers
My PSP speakers arent the ones beside the screen..those 2 dont work
the only speakers that do work are the ones that are on the bottom on the system
is there something wrong with my PSP?

well.....excuse my ignorance, I did not know.
I only go by the MANUAL, which only shows there being a left and right speaker
Can you provide a link or image of these 4 speakers please.
Thanks.....

As far as i am aware, the PSP only has TWO speakers.
The two indents on the top are for accessories/add-ons for future support.
If you cover the top two holes, you will not notice a difference.. cover the bottom two, and their your speakers.

welll....
As I stated before the manual says left and right only, and "Dan" from customer service had no idea, he only knows that they are stereo speakers(what a moron, I knew that already).
So until further proof is provided, I will assume I am not as ignorant as you thought.
anybpody else wanna step in on this one......I googled the dismantled psp pic, but couldn't really determine from that either.

I think the Jap. PSP uses only the bottom 2 and the US uses the front 2.

YEAH, well that DOESN'T state whethere there are TWO or FOUR speakers,
it just says stereo.
You cannot confirm this? Why not?
I read the manual and have checked the technical specs and they DON'T
contain this data.
Are you trying to tell me this info is not available to me, or you
don't know and can't figure it out?
STILL AN UNANSWERED QUESTION,
Dusty

I was just curious....exactly how many speakers are inside the PSP.
The manual shows left/right, but people are saying there are four speakers.
Can you please verify this information.
THANKS!
Dusty

Now why would Sony want to put in fake speakers?

I've known about this since launch (march 24th) and I wouldve thought there was yet something else wrong with my PSP had my little brother's PSP speakers not been the same way.
I have the US PSP
i read the manual and it says that the only speakers are the ones beside the screen..but when i cover them, the sound/music doesnt change..

I thought we were talking about the holes on the front of the unit (along the same area as the home---screen brightness buttons) not the screw holes. Who thought those were the speakers? No the speakers are on the bottom (very bottom, like underneath your PSP on the silver part). Youll see two holes there. Test by putting your ear to one of them then compare the sound to the ones on the face of the PSP or by just covering up the holes on the face to find no difference.
