Yes, it is way too early for both Sony and Nintendo to reveal much about their systems. Both are expected to launch after E3 of next year. MS on the other hand is launching later this year so they have more reason to get info to the public.

After E3 next year? You mean before E3. If they release it after E3.. I'm going crazy. Most likely that won't happen because all they need is to update the Cell and they need the G70 graphics card finished. Which should be completed by the end of this year.

The PS3 is supposed to launch around 4 months after the Xbox 360. Oh well, I'm starting not to care anymore. Microsoft is doing a really good job with the X360, so good, that a Sony fan like me is starting to consider getting it instead of the PS3. All the features that have been announced for the X360, are just amazing. I doubt that the PS3 is going to come close to all of them.

DVR in PS3? Interesting.

The MTV is a total dissappointment according to everyone who watched it. Xbox 360 was severely rushed.

I was having a rant... :P

I didn't have a problem with the MTV thing. The Xbox360, much to my dismay, is just getting better and better everytime I see/hear. 20 Gig harddrive, great UI, hordes of developer support, and stylish console design, there isn't much to criticize. Those games that were shown are probably old...The X360 is a beast, 512 GB of RAM, etc. etc. etc.

I can only imagine what Sony's going to show...
-No harddrive, instead, we use their expensive as anything Memory Sticks. (Or pay $$$ for a harddrive)
-Horrible UI
-Disappointing Online System
-A sad looking console....
-128 MB of RAM...

-128 MB of RAM... 1) How do you know PS3 will have a HDD sold seperately?
2) This, you don't know
3) Again, you don't know. Although I'm willing to bet that it won't be as fantastic as LIVE, but I don't think it'll be disappointing either.
4) Sad looking? Guess PS2 was "sad" looking too, eh? Oh well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
5) It'll have 256MB minimum, but at this rate, it'll most likely hate 512MB

Oh yeah, where did you hear that the Xbox 360 will have 512GB of RAM? That puts even the most powerful super computer to shame . I'm sure you meant "MB". On top of that, Xbox 360's old DDR RAM is nothing to get excited over... Not when better and faster RAM are already out on the market.

Just because Sony is being quite doesn't mean they don't have anything to offer. E3 is only a few days away, surely you can wait 'till then ;).

-Because Sony didn't seem too enthusiastic about the HDD. They already stated that they were looking for more cost effective options.
-I know, it was a part of my rant
-I just want something decent from Sony. Will I be happy if it's not as great as Live? Yup. I just want something that's a great alternative, that's comparable with it. I don't see Sony doing something like Live though.
-The PS2 isn't all that in terms of design, compared to the Xbox and GCN, yeah it's great, but the X360 is one good looking console, and Nintendo seems to be creating a very good looking console. I just don't want Sony to create something bland or too extravagant. Something that looks great, like their Vaio Type H

Seriously, man, if you want the 360, just get the thing. No one is stopping nor provoking you about it. It's your own decision to make that call. But to make such absurd assumptions as a way of making your purchase of the console any easier is a little, well....ridiculous to me. We know almost close to nothing about what Sony or Nintendo's entire plans are for their next consoles. You have simply pinned rumors you probably heard from an Xbox site, filled with delusional fanboy prophecies, onto this console. This hear say garbage alone could have easily been applied to the 360 as well if we didn't know as much as we do now about the console except opposite of what you have brought forward about the console you are currently speaking of. The little bit that we do know, however, goes against that. So my simple question to you is what makes you so sure that everything else won't turn up the same way or to an extent?

In the future, it would be wise to use a non bias debate not revolving around so much hear say to make your point next time.

My counter-points

-The Harddrive with the xbox 360 is seperate, neh, so you pay for it too.

-Shut up about UI, that's not nearly as important as technological potential and games for a console, 2 of which sony consoles have had on their side in the past.

-512GB of ram? I think you meant MB...anyways the PS3 is like to have 512MB of XDR with a 2 cell config making it very powerful indeed.

-A sad looking console? Look at the PSP, that thing is sexy! And what are you doing looking at your console when you should be playing games anyways!

Also we shall see with the on-line but I don't think you're right..if anything the Xbox360 on-line support is disappointing in that you get the useless features for free..oh joy, like I want to talk to a friend, for free.

Just wait, sony will soon say what you want to hear. The PS3 will be better..but how much I cannot say.

OMG, how could u say LIVE is dissaopinting, ofcourse we all want things free, but the silver subscriction is quite good. Its just like the current xbox live subscription, u can play online with friends, voicechat, download updates , all of this FREE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. If theres one thing thats taking me to the dark side (Microsoft i mean) its this. I already pay for xbox live on my xbox, quite happy with it. As soon as i get a360 illhave a gold subscription. All the servers and stuff is handeld by Microsoft, so like no lags or nothing, and u know a game developer wont stop supporting their game online just cause only a handheld of people bought it. Anyone remember PSO on dreamcast. They stopped it cause there werent many people playing on it, but there were a few....

Summin up, i doubt Sony will have this good a online plan. I doubt because its sony, and if they did have a similiar online plan as Microsoft (heck Microsoft stole their design with upright 360) then Sony would have everything. I doubt any console in History will be that good, its just too good to be true then. There's always something another console has which u want. So far the only thing 360 has goin for it is its online plan. If Sony nails it, there will be absolutely nothing people would want in 360 (less grapichs, no HD/BLU RAY ETC ETC

That's the thing, I don't want an Xbox360. I'm just getting envious of the amount of information being leaked. Ok, it's basically an amalgamation of all the negative things I've heard about the PS3 at TXB/X365, etc. etc. etc. I was sleep deprived, and got tired of being impatient! What little we do know about the PS3 is so conflicting, it's hard to keep track.

My counter-points

-The Harddrive with the xbox 360 is seperate, neh, so you pay for it too.
No it's not. Each X360 console comes with a 20 GB HDD that can be upgraded.

-Shut up about UI, that's not nearly as important as technological potential and games for a console, 2 of which sony consoles have had on their side in the past.
...well, it does help to have an attractive UI...

-512GB of ram? I think you meant MB...anyways the PS3 is like to have 512MB of XDR with a 2 cell config making it very powerful indeed.
Yeah, I meant 512MB of RAM. I thought that it would be extremely unlikely for the PS3 to have 512 of XDR because they couldn't afford it...

-A sad looking console? Look at the PSP, that thing is sexy! And what are you doing looking at your console when you should be playing games anyways!
Again, it doesn't help to have an attractive looking piece of hardware in your living room.

I hope I'm wrong on all of it. But from what I'm hearing, Microsoft can't be rivaled when it comes to the online experience. I really do hope that Sony steps up their game with their next Online service, something that's just as good, or even nearly as good as Xbox Live.

My patience is wearing thin, Sony better say the stuff that I want to hear...And how can you just leave me hanging right there! :P

I thought that the Xbox 360 Silver version of live only included on-line play for MMO-games. If anone has a quote that says otherwise I'd be interested.

@ Goki:

The XBOX 360 Silver Live subscription which is free will NOT allow you to play games online for free, except for on special free weekends. Everyone will still have to pay for Live. Also, Sony has plenty of online experience with their online division SOE, so I wouldn't put it past them to have a good online service this time around... I believe they were just hesitant about charging people for online because it hadn't been done before so they went with the safer route which is the same one that PC games use today. Based on the success of Xbox Live, I see Sony coming up with an answer to it. I wish people would stop saying Sony CAN'T do something, because Sony has a huge advantage by having its roots deep into a lot of industries.

Personally, I see Sony answering every move that Microsoft makes, or at least coming up with a good reason why an answer isn't needed. A lot of people are watching what happens between the two companies, Sony realizes this, and they do not want to lose one of their most profitable industries.

Edit: Danji Ikari, you're right in a sense... Silver access will allow access to MMO games, but you'll still have to pay the fee that the developer charges for accessing their servers, which today is pretty much $15 for every online game. So in conclusion, you can access an MMO game with silver Live access, but you still have to pay the monthly fee for the MMO that the developer charges to run their servers.
