Some got let down by Blue Dragon as it is a kiddy RPG with cartoon-ish visuals, thus not looking special or showing anything ‘next-gen’. it is more similar to DQ8.

The other Mistwalker exclusive has a more ‘grown up’ art direction. It is similar to FF10 and FF12. here are the first pics shown:

Nice! Its these types of RPGs the Xbox 360 will need. More a reason to buy it.

Is that first guy (on the JP site) Nobuo Uematsu? I'm probably wrong but it looks a lot like him. It'd be cool if it was 8)

now this is more next generation material to me 8). very impressive i wonder how will FF13 look like on ps3 which is much stronger than xbox 360.

i also wonder will ps3 now have 512mb of Xdram now xbox 360 has 512mb?.

we can definetely see a port of this game on ps3 sometime in the future. it's not like mistwalker belongs or has signed any deals with microsoft.

we need to pay attention what kind of an ‘exclusive’ deal is on a game. this could very well be a time exclusivity one, which means we will be getting a port in a few months time.
In any case, I have a strong feeling that future installments of MistWalker will be full PS3 exclusives. It is obvious really; a Japanese dev, a Japanese console, an RPG title, the undisputed king of consoles for a decade.

I also predict that the sequel of Lost Odyssey will be exclusive to PS3. more or less the same scenario with Crimson Sea- more or less.

they're not actually on microsoft's pay role. i think that they decided to make these two games on xbox 360 for the obvious reasons.

1. Xbox 360 launches first
2. Mistwalkers is a newly development studio.
3. Ps3 doesn't drop until a year from now.
4. Mistwalkers needs to start making money pronto out of their productions.
5. xbox 360 will have the at least a guaranteeing user base for mistwalkers to make money out of their product.
6. by the time these two games are out ps3 will probably only start to gain market share and installing a user base and when you invest heavily on product you expect to see results.

you think they will wait out until ps3 when xbox comes out first and by the time ps3 comes out xbox 360 will have decent sales. guaranteeing at least safe sales numbers. it's obvious and the clear choice is xbox 360.
it's like they haven't disregarded or ignored ps3 on the contrary they never mentioned any exclusivity.

MistWalker won't be going to Sony, I doubt that very much. They are living the good life with Microsoft.

Plus, Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are being published by Microsoft, so I doubt that they'll appear on anything other than an Xbox console.

i don't know some how people that started with sony always find their way back to them. like capcom and RE series etc. so i still don't doubt the possibility since after all they are a free will company. while microsoft might actually hold these to titles that doesn't completely disregard the fact that they can develop for sony and at the same time they can milk microsoft for their money.

I dunno guys... with exclusive titles like MistWalkers Lost Odyssey Xbox just might be able to turn some heads their way that normally wouldn't look twice...

Right now M$ has given me only 1 good reason to pick-up a 360 with this game (I'm an RPG whore)... but inorder to make me go out and spend on that system they'll need much MUCH more support in the RPG domain (and FFXI isn't going to cut it).

On another note, I hope to hell that Square Enix doesn't plan on releasing anything else for M$.
