yes looks good but it's kind of dissappointing that this game already utilizes 80% of xbox 360 peak performance. so don't expect a huge improvement in graphics after this engine, at least on xbox 360 that is.

The game uses the Unreal Engine 3, the characters are from the tech demo. Probably 360's best looking game, along with PGR3 :P

I love peopel who say that...I remember they said the same when the PS was released, and I still have magazines from the Jap release of the Ps2 with letters from Joe Public saying that Ridge Racer was the pinnacle of the PS2's processing power.

More time with a machine = more ways to get the best out of it. Trust me, in 5 years, this game wont be the equivilent of 80% of the machines possibility.

I would just buy a Xbox for this damn game. Sony needs to make more First Person shooters !!

This game really gets me excited about the next-generation graphical possibility. Especially the games that use the unreal 3 engine. Can't wait to see what Mortal Kombats gonna look like. This games probably using all of the Unreal 3 engines graphical effects and options (normal mapping of course, per-pixel shading, ect.) because it abviously is the Unreal 3 engines demo. So I doubt that all the games will show the beautifal graphics of this game. Thats obvious. But this is a good showcase for what possible. Its only going to get better when they figure how to conserve power and new ways to rendering techniques. Can't wait for PS3s debut at E3 man. Monday can't get here soon enough.

Isn't this a third person shooter?

Anyway, i agree, PS owners are definitely in need of some quality FPS action.

Looks great. But why does everybody look like clay/plastic and not photo realistic? Or at least more real.

Looks great. But why does everybody look like clay/plastic and not photo realistic? Or at least more real.Ha, ha, ha...you know I was thinking the same thing. When Make it look real said it looked real I was thinking maybe they look like pictures of toys. The first pic looks like you could almost touch it but doesn't look real. Looks beautifal and i'm certainly not complaining.

the armor makes them look like toys. same as with halo. why does everything have to have armor to show off graphics?

They don't really need it. It's more an artistic decision than anything. That, and it fits the theme of the game.

Eh, anyway. I'm going.

With Armors, you don't need detailes such as waving clothes, and with helmets, you don't need to render hairs which i believe take up lots and lots of system resources to render nicely. Plus those armors look way easier to recreate in a computer environment than creating a realistic looking skin and body lines. Also you don't need to create so many faces if everyone's wearing a helmet.

To be honest i dont like Unreal 3.0 style.. they looks more like plastic rather then real-life.

I'd rather Gran Turismo 4 style over it anyday.. or Dark sector.. i like the style, not too plastic looking

^ What KKS said. Skin, hair, clothes etc are extremely hard to model and animate accurately and would also further burden the system with more calculations in regards their movement. Rigid forms like armor, space craft, cars, planes, etc are way easier to do.

Right now that wouldn't be too big of an issue, as we're trying to flaunt what these machines can do, but one other thing armor affords you in a game is that it is inherrently easier to animate armor of this type than it is to have smooth, flowing skin lines animating correctly.
