how is it that the playstations (and i think other consoles, like even snes) use just one port for all outgoing audio/video, yet tvs use several different inputs for each format? do all types of wires (s video, rca, compnent, etc) carry the exact same signal, but with the difference only being how the tv uses it? i don't understand it.
