Xbox360 will have a water or liquid cooling system. What about ps3?

As far as we know it's just fun.

apparently is water cooled and it mostlikely runs alot cooler than xbox 360. the ventilation holes are so tiny on ps3 and there aren't as many as there were with ps2. the xbox 360 on the other hand has huge ventilation holes on the back and top so it must run pretty hot.

Buwahahahahahaha
I meant fan. As far as we know it uses a fan.

well, i think that only matters with PC's. as long is it doesn't burst into flames, it doesn't really matter how you cool it.

Are you kidding? Have you played on a high end PC with cpu fans, vidcard fan, ,slot fan,etc fans? It's LOUD. Ps3 has so much hardware inside, if it has a fan it'll be LOUD also.
Noise pollution....

How are they going to cool the water? Obviously there isn't going to be a remote cooling well... so there will still need to be a fan or something to blow across whatever well the consoles will have.
God help the guy whose well gets a crack. I hope those things handle temperature changes well, it would definately suck balls if the well busted while you were trudging though the snow to play on your neighbor's uber-surround-o-movie entertainment setup

My l337 comp is silent with amd athlon64 3500+, geforce 6800gt and a 10000rpm hdd to boot. It's all about smart cooling. I'm using a zalman 7000alcu cooler for the cpu with the fan on around 1300 rpm, artic cooling nv-silencer for 6800gt which is near silent, and a harddrive suspender on the hdd. The case fans are 120mm fans on 5v which are dead quite.
Just had to show off my computer i'm so proud of. Half Life 2 with HDR mod runs like butter
Also i've read somewhere that x360's liquid cooling is just heat pipe technology which isn't very special. Lots of heat sinks for computers uses it. It basically has this liquid in a pipe that goes thru phase changes to (evaporation to be more accurate but phase change sounds a lot cooler) that can transmit heat really efficiently. I dont' see why PS3 can't use something like that also. Plus its way more safer than a water cooled machine.

All modern systems have temperature sensors on their CPU that allow them to throttle down to lower speed or shut down completely if the temperature rises too much. More viable weakness of a watercooling system is that if the water used is not pure, it will shortcut the system if it leaks.

Just so everyone knows, water cooling (true water cooling) creates a fair bit of noise, more so than fans.

i don't think they have a final unit to test heat dissipation... maybe that's why it's clocked so low.. if the final unit deals with heat efficiently the cpu could be clocked alot higher.
Also, the shell could change drastically to accomodate heat issues.
