My suggestion would be to wait till you hear more about the games coming out for each. That is what makes or breaks every system (though Sony is trying to break away from the by morphing into a full entertainment system) still, each side has their pros and cons:

Xbox 360:

I have no doubt in my mind that Microsoft is going to make one hell of a solid system here. It may not be the best hardware, but I'm ore than sure that it will be reliable. They will support their investment to the bitter end, and I respect that. They can be a bit arrogant though (Claiming they think they'll sell a BILLION consoles by the end of this next round of consoles?) M$ just didn't go for the gold this time, which is a bit disheartening. It isn’t nearly as innovative(I think) as the PS3, which is why it has been aptly dubbed the Xbox 1.5, for it has much better Hardware (of course) but hasn't really brought anything *new* to the table. I like the way they are going with the whole online market and other stuff, but aside from their updated Online features, they really aren't bringing anything new in, which is said, because they seemed to do so when they brought in the HD last time. Did you run out of ideas M$? Sony defiantly has plenty of ideas to go on. They are that kind of company. Just sometimes you have to wonder if they are trying to do too much.

Playstation 3:

Sony has set themselves up for so many possibilities this time around, with so many directions they can go. This system will obviously by the technical superior to the other consoles. If you're looking for the most power, this is your system. Problem is, Sony is going out on a bit of a wing here with this one (well, they always do). Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Sony is going to be selling their hardware with less adequate hardware than the others, but Sony DID have that be Fiasco with the launch of the PS2 with consoles that were faulty. All I'm saying is that Sony's console may be a bit, well, less reliable (please don't flame me. I love Sony) Also, they have set themselves up this time so that they HAVE to be the absolute best. They have a lot of hype to live up to, and if they don't, then they have shot themselves in the foot...with a bazooka.

And IF Sony CAN actually pull all this stuff off in their system, and it turns out to be the system we all dreamed of, than the $$$ of it will be pricey to say the least. It's either we get the console of our dreams, for a price, OR we sacrifice some things in order to get the console at a decent price range. Either way, it's going to sting Sony fanboys a bit. That's a plus u can put for the Xbox 360, since it will most likely be in the decent price range, so u can buy a good, solid system, running next gen graphics, for the typical $300, AND get it a whole YEAR early.

But, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. It's whatever you fancy. I personally would like them both. I don't know was of yet how feasible that option is atm, but I know I'd like them both. I'll have to make some decisions myself sometime soon...

and don't forget to mention all the defective PSPs. (I got 2 of them and was forced to wait weeks only to exchange one faulty PSP for another)

but still, I would never ditch Sony though.

Not flaming you. LOL: Everyone knows how reliable MS is. With the time to fix holes and exploits, quality of products, how much they really care etc. :)

PS2 sucks they aren't reliable, I have gone thru 3 of them and the funny thing my last job allowed me to take my xbox into work, and I had that system on the road every day and it still works, my bag strap broke the system fell to the ground and it still works to this day, my ps2 never left the house kept it's in my entertainment center and it just stop working, my xbox has gone thru more hell that any of my systems and it works fine.

The funny part is I just bought this house, and i hadn't unpack every thing i left my GC in the garage not inside the box, from summer to winter last year and it still works, and my garage isn't a storage room yet I still park my car in it everyday.

well nemesis, that is your experience. Mine, however, is very different. My 2001 PS2 is still working fine. I got the Slim version just for the heck of it (the same day as my PSP ;)
