UMD Dump Loader concerns

Just wondering......I've been reading the articles on IGN.com that say these methods to load up the dumps can somewhat damage the PSP....is it true? I don't wanna assume that IGN is trying to scare people in not doing it. Can someone give me a TRUE answer? :shock:

I dont like this news at all.. we all loves free games, who doesnt, but this is just way way too early. I dont want sony gets discouraged by this and leave the handheld market, just because no one buys PSP games software.

Not to mention imagine so many backups..

im also concerned about UMD being proved as standard media by one of that comapny (forget the name).. all 3rd parties could download UMD datasheet and could starting make their own UMD.. UMD-burner is just around the corner im sure that.
