Sure thing, we'd appreciate it. I'm not surprised by Cell articles popping up in popular magazines, since that's a major part of the PS3. Any publicity for the console is welcome by Sony.
Oh, make sure the text isn't illegible since I already have poor eyesight.

LoL... I mean the quality of the scan. If it's too low, then we won't be able to read it without struggling. The process of scanning and resizing the image will get that AA effect.

I'm supprised popular science didn't run an article on the cell 2 years ago talking about how its computing power combined with new age animatronics will combine to create armies of robotic dead and the world will be ruled by those with the largest graveyards.
bah, popular science is crappy

did i read wrong! or something is wrong with that article? they said that the Cell has 9 cores and can make 18 task at once? can somebody explain me that cuz i dont get it!! for all i know the Cell will have 8 cores which 7 will be activeted and that each spe's can handle one task so that means that the cell can handle 7 task at once. PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME

Well i read something about the Cell, infact it has 8 spe's, and each spe does one task at the time so it means 8 tasks at once. if u want to read it here is the link: http://www-306.ibm.com/chips/techlib/techlib.nsf/techdocs/D9439D04EA9B080B87256FC00075CC2D/$file/MPR-Cell-details-article-021405.pdf
is at fifth page, the fourth paragraph

8 SPE's + 1 PPE = 9 cores.
The PPE is dual threaded.

but its only the ppe and the spe's do a single thread isnt it!?

Sounds like they're confusing the concept of 2-way issue with 2-way SMT. The PPE has 2-way SMT, the SPEs have 2-way instruction issue. SPEs have two pipelines, all right, but one is strictly memory access and the other is strictly computational. It does not have all nature of duplicate register files and context tracking that you'd need to actually do multithreading. And either way, you'd need both pipes for any one thread to operate.
Also, they're forgetting about the one SPE disabled.

Well it's an article about Cell afterall, not just Cell within the confines of the PS3.

im tired to hear that the x360 is a lot better in performance (they always said the it has 3 cores and thats why its better than the cell) and i want to shut them down but i just simply cant cuz i have to wait until they show alittle bit more of the wonderful capabilities of the cell
