I was at the Video Games Live concert last Wednesday and had the great opportunity to speak with Insomniac Games president Ted Price, and I told him how great I-8 was looking in the initial video and how much I was looking forward to it, and he mentioned that I should check out the new video. I didn't know what he was talking about so I asked him about it, and he says they fixed some things and it looks a lot better now, and I should be able to see it on IGN or Gamespot, but neither of them has anything updated. I was wondering if anybody here has heard anything about that in the far-reaching depths of the internet and rumor on PS3 games
I did a quick glance at the recent topics and didn't see anything on it, so I figured I was in the clear to post...

That's odd. Maybe the video on IGN is different to what they showed at conference o_O But that's strange, I don't trhink there's a new vid. Hopefully soon.

I-8 is my most anticipated, constipated, regulated PS3 game (man you post some DUMB shyt when your sleepy huh??).....anyway, in other words it's what I'm looking forward to more than any other PS3 game so far.

Yeah, it looks really awesome, and I know Insomniac will do great things with the PS3 hardware, so I'm really anxious to see this new video...
Also, I sent an e-mail to Insomniac about it tonight, and last time I got a reply in 24 hours or less, so I'm expecting a reply by tomorrow :-/

Yeah I expect this video to look much much better. The originally looked kind of low quality, graphically for their standards.:P

I'm anxious to see what Insomniac can do with a game like this.

ALso it's their first FPS genre .
They were used to make Plateform adventure games .
I m ondering what the final version will look like .
but i m confident .
But sincerly i have enough of those WWII games , but what else ?
it's always good to play .

This is their second FPS. Their first FPS was Disruptor back on the PSX. It was a decent game, I'd say.
Edit: Not to mention Going Commando had the option to set the controls to FPS-like controls. In UYA, they elaborated on this and provided some good online play. In Deadlocked they're going even further by making the lock-strafe movement the standard play mode. This is styled more after FPSs than the old movement system and they're improving their online gaming community.
I'd say they're ready.

This isn't their first FPS. Their first game was a FPS. (Don't remember the name)
I haven't seen any new video (I'd like to see it), but I-8 left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Not so much that it wasn't impressive (visually), but that what was shown was just...bleh. I mean, I've played so many WWII/WWII type games that I am sick of it. Insomniac is one of my liked developers, but I don't think I'll be getting this game, unless it is actually engaging. (And not based on or around WWII-with monsters)

Did anyone see the high-res trailer from IGN?

I don't think it's JUST a world war 2 FPS, it seems to have a different lavour with all the aliens and stuff. Reminds me of Half Life 2 in the 1940's. Actually, it looked more like World war 1 to me, but whatever :P
I tyhink there'll be a new trailer from the Sony Party next week, that's what he would've been talkin about

I don't know about the IGN trailer, but i just downloaded the high res trailer over at Gamespot,
and it has been updated, the framerate is alot better.
If you've got the old one, delete that and grab this, the old trailer doesn't do the game justice.
Just watched the old one again, man it looks crap.
Not the best comparison.....New Left, Old Right.

Plus a smoother framerate.
If they released this version in the first place, i'd say there'd be alot more interest in it, it looks great.

Hey, can you quote the email so no one can doubt you? The new one looks great.

after watching that I see no reason to doubt killzone (watch the smoke in the I-8 trailer)

Insomniac probably didn't have enough time to create the demo so we should be expect better visuals. The PS3 dev't kits, especially the older ones might not always give a proper representation of the visuals especially if the game depends on bandwidth.

This game is obviously going to look a whole lot better, I am assuming. For one, it was done on the alpha kits, (2 6800's SLI) and Insomniac only had a few months to put something together.

Hi there,
The "fixed" version of the I-8 video you're referring to is simple a
higher-resolution version of the original video shown at E3. There is no new
footage to speak of, so whatever you see on IGN, Gamespot or GameTrailers.com is
the best version possible. Hope this helps!
Take care,
Insomniac Games
There ya go.

Also the trailer on IGN looks a lot more detailed and much brighter than the last. Also the tearing is gone.

Yeah, it looks like the gaming sites replaced the old one with the new one Insomniac fixed up.
