The NHL's long awaited new CBA will be completed today, sources close to the talks told TSN Wednesday.

An extended session between the NHL and NHL Players' Association, which started at Noon et on Tuesday, is apparently continuing and should soon produce the agreement that would be the catalyst to ending the 301-day labour dispute, the longest in the history of North American professional sports.

The deal is done!!!!!!!

And now for the words everyone has been waiting to hear: The deal is done!

The NHL and NHL Players' Association have finally reached an agreement (pending ratification) on a new six-year collective bargaining agreement that - if approved by the NHL board of governors next Thursday and the rank and file membership of the NHLPA next Tuesday - will officially end the stalemate on July 21.

Still has to pass the votes. It should be passed, but it might be close on the players' side depending on whether or not the hardliners decide to accept the deal.

Unless they want to keep going broke, the bastards have no choice.

Well, broke to them is different than broke to us. All the players get paid $10,000 USD/month by the NHLPA and then the ones that went over to play in the Russian Super League made up to 3 or 4 million. Some of them are struggling, but not all.
