Metal Sphere, excellent compilation.

The usage of a few terms are very interesting, "Realtime CG" for example. This allows me to firmly believe that PS3 games will be having a CG-like graphics like Killzone which was also in real-time. :)

This strategic alliance with Transmeta is becoming very interesting. I might be thinking too much but I feel that their x86 emulation technology may somehow be available to the Cell. :)

Lastly alot more games should be appearing on the PS3 because the publisher authorization clearance will likely match the quick service that MS is known for with the Xbox. :)

The interesting part is that Transmeta will allow a straight forward toolset for allowing easy program for the SPE. Imagine the possiblities...

That's what Sony seems to be aiming for. Extremely attractive visuals, easier development and increased numbers of games. The PS2 was complained about because it was difficult to make games for, yet we saw great games on the game at a steady rate throughout it's life. And it's still got more games, looking much better than anything anyone could've been expecting.

They've definitely taken many steps in the right direction in terms of development and hardware. They've already got an enmormous amount of developer support which is only likely to increase now that they've patched up most of their weak spots. Their online plan is one of their few sore spots so far.

I'm glad you like the setup, but some credit needs to go to IGN for orgnanizing all of these. For some reason, this meeting hasn't been covered all that well despite the important developments made.

Yes, I predicted to myself (to avoid lashes :S) that Transmeta will be optimizing the SPEs right after the LongRun2 deal. Now with those two being passed, I wonder if x86 emulation will be available on the Cell. Just imagine having an alternative to the x86 CPUs while also having the ability to use x86 software. Also Transmeta CPUs will be able to include the features seen on their Efficeon CPU.

Developments are getting better every week. :)

Does havok allow comepletely real-time calculated animation? Is it possible to have your animation completely physics based with out any motion capture? Ken was taliking about this in that 3 part interview he gave. I beleive he said everything on Ps3 would be calculations while competitors would use motion capture

Groovy.

It sets out to us ps2 people just what a next generation title is and just what you should expect.

A next generation title is:

Shaders (Vertex and Pixel)
High quality textures
Industrial strength real time generated physics replacing some of the use of key frame animation. Some mo cap replaced too.
Blu Ray high def video/storage capacity
XBox Live style online service (hopefully)
Wireless controllers
HDMI quality video output

All backwards compatible with 10 years of assets, because the people need to still play Parrapa the Rapper(!!!).

Groovy. Bring it on. I gotta believe. :D
