Ok well i'm making a thread that focuses soley on Madden on the next generation console and I have a few questions about its potential. As some of you may know im not that technically savy as some on this board but I do enjoy coming on these forums and reading the threads because this it truely the most reliable site for PS3 next gen info. Any way lets cut to the chase... which is Madden.

I'm playing Madden 05 as we speak and as I am lookingand just asking myself, "What else could they add to Madden with the next gen consoles?". I want the technically enlightened ones on these boards to explain to me what a next gen console like the PS3 can do for madden. As of now i dont see how the game can get any more anjoyable besides graphics... is there anything else that PS3 can do to enhance the madden experience?

Discuss here.

i cant see them adding much gameplay wise as they'll expect everyone to be blown away with the graphics

Yeah. I agree. Theres probably not much they can change except the graphics but the graphics can add a lot to the experience. After seeing the next-gen Madden trailers I beleive that the graphics could look better then they do. Considering how realistic the newest PS2/ X-box Madden looks...the next-gen has a plastic shiny look where they should have a more earthy look to it. It'll probably look more and more realistic as the next-gen maddens are released. Just like comparing the first PS2 version to the 06 version graphically.

not just graphics, next gen- especially PS3- will have amazing advanced physics. PS3 will also be the only system to do 'real time physics simulation'' this is a new technique that gives better results than Mo-Cap (motion capture) or key frame animation.

but again, since nrealy all of EA games are multiplatform, the game may be limited to what X2 can do. we will have to wait and see. I expect a new trailer at TGS little over 6 weeks from now.

Football in Japan? Well, there is always a shot.

I think that EA will keep the X2 and PS3 counterparts virtually identical, just like current-gen, so that sales won't be detoured because the game is so much better asthetic on another console. This is why the Xbox version of madden looks virtually identical to the PS2 version. This was not the case with NFL 2k5 though because they took full advantage of each of the consoles features. The Xbox version looked exceedingly better than the PS2 version and had more features because of the harddrive, but the PS2 version better particle effects.

They added some good things to 06 for ps2, but for next gen they should most importantly elliminate the glitches that effect online, glitches are always what makes most people go away from playin madden. As gameplay wise...they stated some of the new features on the trailer, but other than those, how about a life mode, where u play football as a child and throughout school, and u go through weight training and then go to college, then the NFL. Oh and a better practice mode.

Animations, sidelines, crowds will all get a good shot in the arm. Team and individual A.I. should also go up several notches. Say goodbye to money plays.

on field emotions... like someone remembering a heavy hit you gave him and wanting revenge, kickers really losing it during a field goal kick in the last seconds of the game because the crowds shaking the stadium (literally) realistic looking cheerleaders with a variety of dances so u actually watch the half time show. game highlights during franchise mode so that at the end of the week in something like a espn sports show the recap the 10 biggest plays of the week (from games that u didnt play aswell) rehibilitation mini games for injuries.... thats all i got right now

Its EA, they are gonna copy, paste, and paste a different logo on it every year. No basically, nothing else they can do. Since everything is multiplatform now, they are all gonna be the same too. Until a specific company shows a certain controller *whistles*
