Just post here about other great, or not so great, forums you have visited or have been apart of.
Lightwave Garage 3D
www.lwg3d.com
When I first came to this place, I wasnt expecting it to be anything great, honestly. But right when I clicked the first user made image, I was amazed. The place is filled with n00bs, intermediates, and professionals alike. They are very friendly there too. You could ask the stupidest questions, and they will be like "It's cool. This is how it works. Don't be afraid to ask questions." People actually know what they are talking about there, and they are not afraid to help. I have not yet seen a negative remark. Every single piece of art I have posted has only gotten constructive criticism and good remarks, which helps at making me a better 3d artist. The site is also professionally taken care of. Although the focus is on Lightwave, you can ask questions about any other software. Plus there is the general discussion for other topics. My only real complaint is that it is not as active as I would like, but it is hard to have an active forum when everyone is busy creating a masterpiece.

N-Philes
www.n-philes.com/forums
N-Philes is what got me into forums. I got all I needed to know about video games from there. Plus they had all sorts of different topics to post your threads, from video games, to politics, to whatever. But then I got older, I got interested more into politics and religion, and then I was in for a nightmare. I highly emphasize this, no one will understand your views except for an extremely minute amount of people. Whenever we would get into religious discussions, it would turn into a big flame war within just a few posts. Same with politics. It was ridiculous. I believe the only reason i still posted there for a while was because i got into these awful discussions, and would get ticked off at people accusing me of being stupid, and reply back to them in a similar fashion. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the forums stay active... which is due to all the argueing. I do not recommend this sight unless you are a liberal extremist.

E-mpire forums(aka NintendoNow, Xbox Raw, PSINext)
forums.e-mpire.com
The first time i got banned from n-philes, a nice fellow named Eman showed me these forums. After being here for over a year, I can safely say I recommend it to any gamer. For the most part, people are friendly here. Most of the time, people will know what they are talking about when it comes to their beliefs and opinions. Occasionally, you will get a flame thread here and there, but the staff make sure to extinguish them. The forums are not that active sometimes, but has become more and more promising with an increasing amount of people signing up. Overall, the E-mpire forums are a place where you can laugh and learn all in one with a great variety of members.
