We've all played Metroid in form or another. If you haven't stop reading and reprimand yourself for being an insolent fool then continue reading. Starxxon has a talent for taking games we love and recreating them in his vision and being nice enough to let us play them.
From Metroid to Mario, you can play them as you've never played them before (I now sound like a late night infommercial).
Starxxon, better known as the early 80's Casio synthesizer VL-Tone to some, will be here to demonstrate his talented creations, discuss them and present new artworks to the masses (that means you people).
Please give Starxxon a warm welcome and be sure to give all his homebrewed games and demos a thorough play testing.
hey dude, you prob remember me (Macca) from chat that one time, im the failure....anyways welcome bro

Welcome to the community, your isometric 3D versions of the classic games are impressive.
Starxxon has a lot of talent when it comes to designing games.

Hey thank you everyone here :)
I had a long day today and I'm very tired, so this post will be shorter than I would like, but you'll be able to read more about me and my projects in the next few days!
For now, my website is at http://pages.infinit.net/voxel/
This is where you can find Metroid Cubed (as featured on g4tv) and other demos, like an online Mario 64 demo featuring 4 levels including Peach's Castle, as decoded from the game!
I will move my site to a new host very soon, with my own domain name, and much more space so I'll put more stuff and have a complete redesign. This forum will be linked starting tomorrow on my page, and I will keep you updated about it.
In the mean time, enjoy!
(By the way Crow, you are not a failure! :) )

Just saw the Metroid Cubed director port, and I must say that I am impressed. If you are interested or looking for help building your new website, I'd be more than happy to help out.
Check out some of my work here: http://www.derekentringer.com
Let me know what you think.

Hi Derek! thanks for the kind words :) I was busy these last 2 weeks, and didn't have much time to devote to this forum, and the internet in general (I was working like 10 hours a day!). Fortunately beginning this September I will have much more time on my hands.
You got many impressive things too on your site Derek :) The Street Fighter demo makes me think about one of the first game/demo I did using Director. It was around 1992, on my friend's Mac Centris 660av. We used the built-in video input and a camera to capture fighting moves (My friend was the "actor") and we started to build a Mortal Kombat type game. We even rendered a background and logo using a 3d app. Overall, the demo had a high quality feel to it, compared to any freeware available at the time. Unfortunately, my friend's mom deleted everything!!! So I won't be able to show it to you :( Anyway once I get more webspace, I will put some of my early work, or screenshots of it on my site. Thank you very much for the proposition to help me with my site, but there is already someone that is working on it.
So don't hesitate to reply, as I will be more avaiable now.
I put up a new demo on my site, hidden as a link in the Zelda Cubed demo.
http://pages.infinit.net/voxel/zeldacubedlive.htm
This is my latest engine to display voxels using OpenGL/Direct X (Shockwave3d), and it gives very good results. In this new demo you can rotate the view to any angle and move the camera up and down. It may be more appropriate to Zelda than Metroid, since it takes a second or 2 to load one "screen", and the original Zelda only scroll screens when you reach the edges so a little pause is not so bad (TLOZ also pauses before scrolling).
More updates soon.
