For the second straight year, Rex Grossman has been injured. This time, he breaks his ankle in a preseason game.

ST. LOUIS -- For the second straight season, the Chicago Bears are bracing for a long stretch without quarterback Rex Grossman.

Rex Grossman played only three games last season due to injury.

If this year is anything like the last, the Bears' passing attack will be absolutely lost while he stands on the sidelines.

Grossman, who played only three games last season before being derailed by a ruptured right knee ligament, will be out three to four months after breaking his left ankle early in the second quarter of Friday night's 17-13 preseason loss to the St. Louis Rams

They say he is our 3-4 months minimum.

well looks like another crappy season for the bears. Which is good because that means less competition in the north for my Packers.

Thank God for the White Sox.

I still think it would have been a crappy season with Grossman. I don't know much about his skills but then again...we haven't seen much of his skills in the pro level at least.

atleast with Grossman there was a tiny ray of hope for the Bears I mean they do have a good defence. Now with Hutchingson or who ever is starting the Bears really don't stand much of chance unless their running game drastically improves but Thomas Jones isn't somebody who can carry that kind of load.

They would have been bad even with Grossman, but it would have been a positive step. 6-8 wins with him, maybe 6 if Orton gets to start and learns the ropes.
