Screamo("hardcore") and introducing music

Ever since I moved to Wyoming, my friends have been trying to get me into screamo bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Thrice, Unearth, and Poison the Well. In turn, I introduced them to true punk, such as Minor Threat, Lower Class Brats, Cheap Sex, Drastic Actions, Global Threat, and Chaos UK. Have you ever done this? If so, did it work? Cause right now my friends and I are covering Minor Threat's 'Look Back and Laugh'. Is anybody else into these types of music? :shrug:

All of the first bands you listed aren't screamo or hardcore, they're either fashioncore or metalcore. Im in to the later bands you listed however, the real punk and hardcore. I love bands like GBH, The Damned, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Agnostic Front, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion.....etc.... I highly recommend you stay away from the shitty music your friends like, don't let them corrupt your good music taste with those bands.

Yeah, some of that music there is terrible. Your friends aren't into the greatest of much, and it (by far) is not screamo or hardcore.

I'm not into much of any of that.

All of the first bands you listed aren't screamo or hardcore, they're either fashioncore or metalcore. Im in to the later bands you listed however, the real punk and hardcore. I love bands like GBH, The Damned, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Agnostic Front, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion.....etc.... I highly recommend you stay away from the shitty music your friends like, don't let them corrupt your good music taste with those bands.
I almost forgot Black Flag, AF, Sex Pistols (yes, Sid Vicious was guilty), Adam and the Ants, 8 Bucks Experiment, Drastic Actions, Stooges, Global Threat, the Unseen, the Rejected, the Misfits (when they had Danzig), the Specials (awesome chill band), and the Dead Milkmen. My friends are all musicians, and thats why I think they are into that type of music. Double Bass running is pretty cool to listen to, besides the fact that it sounds like a sprinkler. Thrice has kinda grown on me for some reason. Whats the definition of the genres you listeed, and name bands in them. I also almost got into a hardcore fight with one of these guys because he kpet saying Avenged Sevenfold was punk. I wanted to kick his fucking ass.

metalcore = Poison the Well, Darkest Hour, Walls of Jericho

The double bass running is old to me. It's in every metalcore and fashioncore song. How the hell an you listen to band that has a song title like "Bleeding Mascara"? <---Atreyu. They crack me up.

Yeah I am. Don't tell anybody! But Im not against drugs. I just dont want to do them. A lot of my friends do them though. Another one of these bands songs is You Eclipsed Through ME. Funny as well.
