Well, I just got my Pixies album from the concert I was at (June 13th, 2005).

It made me realize that the Pixies live is much, much better than the Pixies recorded. Which made me realize that the same goes for a lot of bands.

In my opinion, at least, most music is better live.

What's everyone else think?

that really depends on the overall talent of the band......
these days the music industry can make anyone sound good, which is why a lot of bands suck live (they aren't that good in the first place)
you can contribute this to ProTools, but that is beside the point.

A GOOD BAND SHOULD HAVE A FAR BETTER LIVE PERFORMANCE THAN WHAT IS ON THEIR CD!

Definately live! All of the bands I've seem have been way better live than on the actual CD. I get chills during my favorite songs.

Stairway to Heaven live is miles better than the studio version. Back then rock had a meaning...

Yes, but it can also be a bad thing. With all that adrenaline in your body, you don't know when you get hurt. Once, I remember getting slammed into a wall, and I don't even remember being hit hard in the pit. The next morning I woke up with cuts on my arms, and 3 huge bruises on my stomach. Pits are uber fun though. Everything happens so fast and you get tired pretty damn quick.

the 3DD, Staind, Breaking Benjamin, No Address concert i was at recently when Staind got on the crowd just blew up. it was fan-fucking-tastic and it just got better when 3DD took the stage.

Five Iron Frenzy also put on a great showing, but alas they are no more.

50 Cent has got to be the worst live performance that I have ever heard, he just can not hit any notes, his real uncomputerized voice makes me cringe.

this one guy pushed me 25 feet into the toms on the side of the building, and i jumped up and started moshing again. 20 mins later, I sat down and passed out over the ticket counter. Turns out i had a concussion and a cut on the back of my head in need of dire stitching. it was hardcore.

The Who's performance was better than Pink Floyd's

Hahaha, I was slashed across my arm with a knife once. It was pretty futs.

Pink Floyd had the time to play their four greatest hits, or at least four of their greatest hits, which is all they needed. I'm greatful they even got together for it.

The Who fuggin' rule. Even though half the band is gone they still kick the Stones' asses.

It all depends doesnt it? Its always better live wen u are there and a bit pissed, but not nessilary(sp) on a album. Punk rock is da best, im not too keen on mosh pits though but i've been in a few, my feet got stood on so many times it was almost fun. but over all i think live for most things
but some bands are so crap they need not to be live

it depends what band and where i hear them. When I saw Jimmy Eat World and Yellowcard on TV, I thought they were awful. But I love the live shows here.
